📋 About This Mod
This is a visual preset made for the original Resident Evil 4 (2005) HD Project version - this setup is highly recommended for the best visual results and compatibility.
Capcom, call me!
Important! For ReShade shadows to work properly, you need to disable the in-game anti-aliasing; otherwise, ReShade won’t be able to read the depth buffer and apply shadows.
Installation:
The archive includes two versions: one using RTGI, and another using GloomAO as an alternative.
• If you don’t want RTGI, you don’t need it! I’ve finally found a proper alternative in the form of
GloomAO. I tried to make both preset versions as close as possible, but RTGI still has slightly better shadows - they cover a larger portion of the textures than GloomAO. However, during gameplay you won’t notice the difference.
For the shadows to work correctly, you’ll need to check a
YouTube guide on how to set up ReShade - it’s very easy!
• If you want the RTGI version, then find and download RTGI 0. 36. 1 and place it into your
reshade-shaders folder.
• Copy the preset files to your main RE4 directory (where
bio4.exeis located).
• Install ReShade.
- Preset with the (RTGI) suffix: This version requires an effect that the author provides only to Patreon subscribers (as far as I remember), and I’m not allowed to share that file. However, it’s fairly easy to find and download for free. You need RTGI version 0. 36. 1
- I strongly recommend not selecting all available effects during ReShade installation if you
already know which preset you’ll be using. Otherwise, the constant
effect loading during gameplay, especially when launching the game or
alt-tanning, can take time depending on your PC's performance, and
sometimes even crash the game.
Instead, specify the path to my preset during the ReShade installation process, and it will install only the required effects.
