Sensible LOD Boost

Keep cliffs, rocks and ancient ruins detailed farther into the distance.

If distant sandstone looks smoothed over and ancient ruins become shapeless blocks, Sensible LOD Boost gives the original scenery more room to stay loaded. It extends the main world's scenery loading range, moving the transition to simplified distant scenery farther away.

Choose your range

• []4x — Recommended: 1,024 m. The main download and a strong middle ground.[/]

  []2x — Less: 512 m. A gentler increase, with earlier distant transitions.[/]

  []6x — More: 1,536 m. The broadest detailed scenery coverage of these presets.[/]

  The multipliers compare the main scenery loading radius with vanilla's 256 m. They do not multiply every object's individual LOD distances or guarantee an exact transition distance for each object. Foliage and the separate far-mountain range retain their game settings. Original textures and individual mesh LODs are untouched.

  The image gallery includes labelled vanilla, 2x, 4x and 6x gameplay screenshots. Numbered outlines point out the sandstone shelves, ruin rooflines and waterfall scenery to inspect. Full frames are retained. These are separate play sessions, so camera position, distance and lighting vary; they are visual examples, not a fixed-camera benchmark.

  Requirements and compatibility

  Palworld for Windows on Steam and compatible Palworld UE4SS. Validated in local single-player. Multiplayer, dedicated servers and Linux/Proton have not been validated for this release. No PalSchema required.

  Use one copy and one range preset. Disable HLOD Fix or any other mod changing the same world-partition ranges before using this mod. Restart after changes.

  Performance

  All three presets were visually tested around Mount Obsidian. The 4x and 6x routes were reported smooth on the test PC. Results depend on your hardware and surroundings. Start at 4x and choose a shorter or longer range to suit. Some distant simplification remains, particularly at 2x. Every world region and travel transition has not been individually tested.

  Installation

  • []Save and fully close Palworld.[/]

    []Install compatible Palworld UE4SS following its author's guide.[/]

    []Download ONE preset. Extract it into the Palworld game folder containing Palworld.exe. Allow the Pal folders to merge and files to replace.[/]

    []Confirm Pal/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/SensibleLOD/Scripts/main.lua exists.[/]

    []Launch normally.[/]

    Switching presets: close the game, extract the new preset to the SAME game folder and allow replacement. All three use identical installed folder and file names. Do not rename the mod folder to create a second copy. The download ZIP names include 2x, 4x or 6x so you can identify your choice. If using a mod manager, enable one preset and disable the previous one.

    Runtime used for validation: Palworld-specific UE4SS 2281fa31. Download UE4SS-Palworld.zip and follow the runtime author's instructions. Choose one UE4SS installation route; do not install manual UE4SS alongside Workshop UE4SS. These archives use the manual UE4SS folder layout.

    Uninstallation

    Save and close the game, remove SensibleLOD from your manual UE4SS Mods folder and restart. The mod's runtime override is not stored in your save file. The game uses its default ranges on the next fresh launch.
