Sensible Compass - Height Indicators

Know whether your compass target is above or below you.

Adds clear up/down indicators beside existing compass markers, including compatible Map Collectables icons. A configurable height tolerance keeps nearby elevations uncluttered.

  How the height band works

  Arrows appear at a vertical difference of 7 metres or more and clear at 6 metres or less. Between those limits, the previous state is retained to prevent flicker. That gives a 12-metre band around your current height where arrows clear. Horizontal distance does not affect the height decision.

  Requirements and compatibility

  Requires compatible Palworld UE4SS with Lua EngineTick support. Tested on Windows/Steam in local single-player with Palworld 1. 0. 5 and UE4SS 2281fa31. Map Collectables Overhauled is optional; version 2. 1. 3 was included in the gameplay test. PalSchema is not required.

  The indicator implementation was tested across the map and all icon types enabled by the tester, and the wider height settings were accepted in play. Multiplayer, dedicated servers, Game Pass and Linux/Proton have not been validated. Other mods replacing the compass layout may be incompatible. Markers without reliable target-height data, including unset custom pins, may not show an indicator.

  Configuration

  With the game closed, edit Scripts/config.lua in the CompassElevation mod folder. ClearInsideMetres controls the level-height tolerance (6. 0 by default); ShowAboveBelowMetres controls appearance (7. 0 by default) and must be larger. CueScale, CueX and CueY adjust indicator size and placement. Restart to apply changes. Mod updates may replace customized settings.

  Installation

  • []Save and fully close Palworld.[/]

    []Install compatible Palworld UE4SS following its author's instructions.[/]

    []Extract the main download into the Palworld folder containing Palworld.exe and merge the Pal folders.[/]

    []Confirm Pal/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/CompassElevation/Scripts/main.lua exists.[/]

    []Launch normally.[/]

    Use one installation route. Do not install both manual and Workshop copies or combine manual and Workshop UE4SS.

    Uninstallation

    Save and close the game, remove only the CompassElevation mod folder, and restart.
