📋 About This Mod

The mod adds ability to dual-wield weapons in the game. You can purchase a weapon you can use in your off-hand in Imperial City Market District in a shop called \"A Fighting Chance\" (check the armor tab). How it works: Basically the off-hand weapon is a shield with sword\'s mesh so don\'t expect to be able to attack with it, although certain power attacks and normal attacks do make it look like you\'re attacking with it, which is nice. Also, since it\'s not really a weapon, it doesn\'t have a damage rating or anything. Instead it adds slightly to your weapon skills and attributes so you\'ll do a little more damage with your normal weapon which gives the illusion of actually having two weapons. Now, I didn\'t really spend too much time on balancing it, but your damage should be somewhat equal to having a two-handed weapon (a little less actually, but faster attack speed should compensate for this too). Warning: Don\'t drop the sword after you\'ve bought it, you won\'t be able to pick it up again. Pros: - Dual-wielding is cool! Cons: - Ok, so the sword mesh looks ugly if you look at it close enough (or not that close :P). Let\'s see you make a better one in 20 minutes without NIF importer :D - Damage may or may not be as good as with two-handed weapons. - Only one off-hand weapon available, I\'m lazy and someone will probably make better mesh for it and other weapons soon anyway or a NIF importer that works, go figure :P Installing: Extract everything to Oblivion\\Data folder. Enable the mod in data files menu.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This mod for Oblivion adds dual-wielding capability, allowing players to equip an off-hand weapon purchasable from "A Fighting Chance" in the Imperial City Market District. It's a niche gameplay addition from 2008 with modest community support (112 endorsements).

✨ Key Features

Adds the ability to dual-wield weapons in the game.
Off-hand weapons are available for purchase in the Imperial City Market District at "A Fighting Chance" shop (armor tab).

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Opens up a new playstyle for melee-focused characters who want more offensive options.
  • Simple concept—just buy the off-hand weapon and go, no complex setup.
  • Has a small but dedicated following (112 endorsements) and over 11k downloads, so it's been tried and tested.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2008—likely outdated and may have compatibility issues with modern Oblivion versions or mods.
  • Only adds one off-hand weapon type, so variety is limited.
  • No detailed instructions or documentation provided, so you might have to figure out the exact mechanics yourself.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Oblivion players who want to experiment with dual-wielding without overhauling combat. If you're a melee enthusiast looking for a fresh twist, this is worth a try. Skip if you expect a full dual-wield system with multiple weapon types—this is a basic addition.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Check the armor tab in the shop—the off-hand weapon is listed there, not under weapons.
  • Make sure your character has the appropriate skill levels to use the off-hand weapon effectively.
  • Since the mod is old, test it on a save you don't mind losing in case of conflicts.
