📋 About This Mod
Just an almost 100% loose file version of the awesome Colored Quests mod by Darkyne, with a lightweight plugin to minimize conflicts!!
Installation: Just install with your mod manager, plugin must load after UOP and UDLCP
Conflicts: The plugin just touches 3 records:
The plugin itself is entirely optional, without it, MQ01 and Arena (just the intro quest) icons will have the color you choose for the Misc quests and MQ08 will have the icon color you choose for the Daedric quests. The plugin just "fixes" those inconsistencies, so it's up to you :)
A lightweight, loose-file version of the Colored Quests mod, designed to minimize plugin conflicts. It offers a simpler installation for users who want quest color customization without the overhead of a full plugin. With 64 endorsements and 17,837 downloads, it has a modest but active user base.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Loose file setup means fewer plugin conflicts, which is a big win for modded setups
- Decent download count (17,837) shows it's been tried by a good number of players
- Simple and lightweight—perfect if you just want quest colors without extra bloat
⚠️ Cons
- Only 64 endorsements—so while many download, few actually endorse, which might indicate mixed results
- Last updated in August 2023—might be outdated if the game has had patches since then
For Skyrim players who want the quest color customization from Colored Quests but prefer a lighter, conflict-free setup. If you're already using a mod manager and want to avoid plugin limits, this is a good pick. Skip if you need full features or fancy options—this is barebones.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a loose file mod, just drop the files into your Data folder or use a mod manager—no plugin to worry about.
- Make sure to load this mod after any other UI mods to ensure quest colors apply correctly.
- If you're using a mod manager, enable this mod and let it overwrite conflicting files—loose files usually take priority.
