📋 About This Mod
The first light-weight accurate file coding AntiBloom MOD which was modded by my discovery of finding new parameters in the PIPELINES/PIPELINEDEFERRED. BIN files.
It conflicts with other mods which modify the same file too. But other mods touching this file should be very rare out there!
Install instructions:
Extract (Unzip) file into your MODS folder, somewhere there ... X:\... Steam...\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\GAMEDATA\MODS
If no MODS Folder exist, then create it and name it exactly MODS
If you have problems after installing mods in general try to Delete the Binaries\SETTINGS\GCMODSETTINGS. MXML file. When you launch NMS again, it will recreate the file.

Know how: Bloom (shader effect)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bloom (sometimes referred to as light bloom or glow) is a computer graphics effect used in video games, demos, and high dynamic range rendering (HDRR) to reproduce an imaging artifact of real-world cameras. The effect produces fringes (or feathers) of light extending from the borders of bright areas in an image, contributing to the illusion of an extremely bright light overwhelming the camera or eye capturing the scene.
AntiBloom removes the annoying bloom effects in No Man's Sky for a crystal clear visual experience, with a potential FPS boost on weaker GPUs. Updated for version 6.12+ and includes VR support, tested with the Voyagers update.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community approved with 332 endorsements and nearly 6k downloads.
- Simple visual tweak that can improve clarity and performance, especially on lower-end hardware.
- VR support included, so headset users get the same benefit.
⚠️ Cons
- Purely cosmetic – no gameplay changes, so if you want more than visual tweaks, this isn't it.
- Only removes bloom; other post-processing effects remain untouched.
- Last updated in November 2025 – may not be compatible with future game updates beyond Voyagers.
For No Man's Sky players who find bloom effects distracting or performance-heavy, especially those on weaker GPUs or in VR. If you want a cleaner, sharper image without the glow, this is a quick fix. Skip if you're fine with the default look or want broader visual overhauls.
