📋 About This Mod
-
[]Opens up The Strip into one contiguous world space
[
]All scripted scenes, quests, and AI packages have been ensured to work properly[]Navmesh has been completely re-done to fix pathing bugs
[]Occlusion panes have been added to help boost performance, based on the ones from Yaruosus's FNV Occlusion Overhaul mod
[]Minor bits of clutter have been added to make the places where the gates/walls used to be feel less awkward
Caveats:
The vanilla strip is weird. It essentially works by moving the same 10 or so NPCs from each area with the player as they move throughout the gates, moving them to different markers and giving them new AI packages to give the illusion of there being many more NPCs than there actually is. This works because the player has to stop and go through every gate, so the NPCs can be teleported without the player even noticing. It also will send some NPCs to the gates to "activate" it and disappear through it. This obviously can't be done with this mod, as there is no way to easily move NPCs from area to area without there being very distracting fade-in right in front of the player. This mod tries to alleviate this best as possible by spreading the vanilla NPCs around the entirety of The Strip, adding in some more to fill in the gaps, and adding "hidden" teleport points at casino entrances and down side streets where the player is less likely to notice. Overall, it feels okay, but you will notice the middle zone of The Strip feels relatively barren compared to the rest. There isn't a ton that can be done about this besides entirely restructuring how NPC spawning works in The Strip, which is a huge task considering how convoluted the scripting is.
