📋 About This Mod

Intro

The goal of this mod is twofold:

Re-imagination of the dialogue interface, with an huge inspiration from Skyrim and ESO.

The de-cluttering of the user interface, removing necessary interface noise, like double borders, unnecessary line breaks and so on.

Status

This mod is still in the early stages. The interface de-cluttering is only applied on some elements, like the user inventory and trade windows, but you can expect to see some changes on every UI, like the new buttons.

Remarks

The dialogue window, like the original, it's fully movable and resizeable. To move it, click and drag the NPC name. The resize is a little bit trickier, since the main "frame" of the dialogue window is transparent. You will need to pixel-hunt a little bit to find its borders.  Sorry about that.

For people having a hard time to find the borders of the dialogue window (in order to resize it), they are more or less here:

This mod is OpenMW only.

Regarding the new icons

Missing icons on some windows

I was not able to add the "gold coin" icon on every window (mainly the travel and spells windows), probably due a bug on the engine that is ignoring the "player gold" position, no matter the value i set. The reason i think it's an engine issue and not something I'm doing wrong is that the exact same layout works on some windows and not on others. If this annoys you, just install the optional mod over the main one to remove all icons.

Travel icons

Because the travel window is shared, i could not set a custom icon for boat travel, another one for teleportation and yet another one for Silt Striders, so all of them use the same icon.

Recommended Mods

Compatible with OpenMW

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 428 endorsements and nearly 90k downloads
  • Actively updated (June 2026) so it should work with current OpenMW builds
  • Focuses on UI de-cluttering, which is a common pain point for Morrowind players

⚠️ Cons

  • Description is thin—no details on what exactly changes or how to install
  • No screenshots or videos provided, so you're flying blind on the visual style
  • UI overhauls can be subjective—what's 'cleaner' to one player might feel too minimal to another
🎯 Is This For You?
For OpenMW players who find the vanilla UI cluttered and want a more modern look without overhauling the entire game. If you're a purist who loves the original interface, this might not be for you. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you're running OpenMW, not the original Morrowind executable—this mod won't work on the latter.
  • If you're using a mod manager like MO2, you can install this like any other mod; otherwise, just drop the files into your OpenMW data directory.
  • Check the mod's forum or comments section for any user screenshots—since the description lacks images, other players might have posted some.
