📋 About This Mod
Cook more than one portion at a time: pick a recipe, choose the quality, then simply select in the game menu how many you want. Play the cooking mini-game once and get the whole batch - capped by your ingredients. Comfort, not a cheat.
Description
Cooking one dish at a time is lovely - the first twenty times. Meal Prep lets you cook a whole batch in one go: pick a recipe at any cooking station, choose the quality as usual, and the game then asks you right in the menu how many portions you want. Play the cooking mini-game once and the whole batch lands in your bag.
Ingredients are consumed normally for every single portion and the amount is automatically capped by what you actually have, so this is comfort, not an infinite-food cheat.
How is this different from the existing Batch Cooking mod? Both solve the same problem - I built mine independently and it works a little differently under the hood: the amount question appears as a native game menu right after the quality selection, and you can alternatively skip the menu entirely and cook a fixed batch size (or always the maximum) via config. Try both and keep whichever feels better!
Installation instructions
1. Install BepInEx 5. 4.x (x64, Mono) into your Moonlight Peaks folder and run the game once.
2. Extract the ZIP into the main Moonlight Peaks folder (the one with "Moonlight Peaks.exe") and let the folders merge.
3. Start the game normally via Steam. Done!
Main features
- Amount menu in-game: after picking recipe and quality, choose how many portions to cook - as a native game popup, no extra UI.
- One mini-game, whole batch: play the cooking game once, get all portions in the chosen quality.
- Fair by design: ingredients are consumed for every portion, and the amount is capped by what you have in reach.
- Menu not your thing? Turn it off and always cook a fixed number (BatchSize) or as many as your ingredients allow (CookMaxPossible).
- Everything configurable in-game with F1 (ConfigurationManager) or via the config file.
Requirements
- BepInEx 5. 4.x (x64, Mono) - install it into your Moonlight Peaks folder and run the game once before adding mods.
- Optional: ConfigurationManager, if you want to change settings in-game with F1. Without it the mod works too - all settings can be edited in the config file.
- Not covered: brewing at the brewing station - it works differently under the hood. This mod is about cooking stations.
Shout outs
Thanks to the BepInEx team for the modding framework, to Little Chicken Game Company for a game cozy enough to cook in at midnight, and to roguechikkin - whose Batch Cooking mod solves the same problem and inspired me to finally release my own take on it.
