📋 About This Mod
This game's graphics pop, don't get me wrong. Probably one of the best looking games to date if you ignore the misc visual bugs, but, it could still look better. After trying a few that others had uploaded and further tweaking while I played, taking essentially the same strategy as my others (E3 Visual Overhaul & RDR2 Visual Overhaul), this is the result. I've managed to completely neutralize the horrible warm tint that this game has over every single scene. Colors actually look how they would at Hogwarts now, considering it's in Scotland, not exactly a warm climate.

Installation:
- Download ReShade
- Install "hogwarts_visual_overhaul.ini" into your game's directory (Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64)
- Open ReShade, select the correct Hogwarts.exe (there will be 2 that show up, choose the one in Phoenix\Binaries\Win64)
- Select DirectX 10/11/12, then select the .ini you just installed from the Browse menu at the bottom right, click next twice for the correct shaders to install
- When you launch the game, open the ReShade menu and make sure hogwarts_visual_overhaul.ini is selected in the drop-down menu
- Make sure performance mode is checked on the bottom right of ReShade
- Don’t forget to endorse if you enjoy it :)
Improved Visuals Engine.ini:
Included in the optional section is my Engine.ini that improves a ton of visuals in-game (see the stickied comment for a slider comparison). Most noticeably, better ray traced reflections (although still testing), extended draw distance, better shadow distance/resolution (still haven't figured out the fuzzy cutscene shadows), higher forced level of detail for objects, & more. This file disables the in-game bloom, which imo is horribly strong, plus this preset adds a bit on its own, the only thing to note is disabling it in-game breaks the visibility of the astronomy tables (so change r. BloomQuality from "0" to "5" when you want to do them.)

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 160 endorsements and over 5,500 downloads
- Focuses on realism, fixing the often-too-vibrant color palette
- Simple visual upgrade that doesn't overhaul the game's identity
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in February 2023 — may not be compatible with the latest game patches
- Only affects visuals; no gameplay or performance tweaks included
For Hogwarts Legacy players who want a more grounded, realistic look without changing the core game. If you're tired of the oversaturated colors and want better lighting, this is for you. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or if you prefer the original vibrant style.
