📋 About This Mod
Testing Beta version of a complete game overhaul, whose goal is to make Gothic Remake a deeper, hardcore RPG.
Disclaimer
This is a Beta testing build. Things will change, values are not final.
I highly recommend playing with this mod ONLY if you've already completed vanilla GR.
Description
My ultimate goal is to transform Gothic Remake into a hardcore RPG with real build variety, high but meaningful difficulty and high replayability.
I take heavy inspiration from classic G1 and G2 mods like Othello and New Balance - I do realise those names bear a lot of weight in the Gothic community, and I will try my absolute best to honor them.
I will be eternally grateful for every single player who decides to give faith into this mod.
All feedback is encouraged, thought-about and appreciated.

[]Open "Rebalance patch" -> "Patch" -> "patched" -> "Script"[/]

[]Overwrite the vanilla .cache (I've packed in the original .cache as backup, don't worry about it)[/]
[]Open "Mods" inside "TotalRebalanceBeta3. 4"[/]
[]Put "TotalRebalance" and "MobSpawns" into your UE4SS mod folder[/]
[]Put "CrossbowSTR" or "RealisticBows" into your UE4SS mod folder - Choose one[/]

[]Have bloody fun![/]
Uninstall instructions

[]Delete or disable TotalRebalance, MobSpawns, CrossbowSTR and RealisticBows mods[/]
Design Philosophy
-
[]Everything is rebalanced based on Hard difficulty and the game is overall harder[/]
[]Make every build, including hybrid builds, competitive and fun to play[/]
[]Rebalance every NPC, weapon, armor, item, spell and skill in the game to improve overall mechanical quality of the game[/]
[]High difficulty that makes logical sense and feels rewarding to overcome[/]
[]Improve the flow of progression, make every completed Chapter rewarding[/]
[]Make magic powerful but costly, make every spell count, avoid spell-spamming[/]
What's changed
NPC stats
-
[]Generic human NPC physical armor values buffed. In vanilla GR, NPC's have massively nerfed armor compared to the player, even on Hard difficulty.[/]
[]Most NPC's physical armor stats and HP rebalanced. NPC models and visuals now reflect their defensive stats - heavily armored Orcs have high Edge and Point armor, skinny and brittle-looking Bloodhounds have low Blunt armor, Skeletons have high Point armor, etc.[/]
Weapons
[]Every weapon and armor was manually and thoughtfully rebalanced. No global multipliers, no random changes.[/]
[]Swords are generally good against low-armor enemies, bad against heavily armored enemies.[/]
[]Maces are generally good against high-armor and brittle enemies, less effective against low-armor enemies compared to Swords.[/]
[]Axes offer a compromise between defeating armor and dealing high Edge damage. Axes don't work as intended right now. I'm working on a solution.[/]
[]10 1H Swords now require both Dexterity and Strength. The most powerful Dexterity 1H Sword requires 70Dex and 35Str.[/]
[]3 2H Swords now require both Dexterity and Strength. The most powerful Dexterity 2H Sword requires 73Dex and 37Str.[/]
[]All Dexterity melee weapons still scale damage with Strength.[/]
[]4 new Magical 2H Swords. Their Elemental damage scales with MaxMana.[/]
