📋 About This Mod

UPDATE 1/28/23 - Updated to work with the Nuka world tour release. Just replace your string files with the newly uploaded ones.

So this mod is pretty self explanatory - The purpose of it is to display average valuations for rare plans and apparel in Fallout 76 in order to reduce the amount of back and forth between devices trying to figure out the worth of an item. Also, since only the rarer items in game are tagged in this way, it serves as a dual purpose to easily spot plans and apparel worth more in the game. I purposely kept out any additional tags next to the pricing to keep clutter down to a minimum. Furthermore, the price format has been condensed for the same reason (ie. 4000 will display as 4k to save space). Values are displayed in the in-game currency, caps. The only other 2 tags which were included are:

[!] - Indicates a dev room/hacked plan

- Indicates an item is not tradable

Yep, that's literally it as the prices themselves can essentially tell you how rare an item is. Pricing data is from NukaTrader.com. Alternatively, if you'd rather not mess with your STRING files, you can always just get valuations from the site directly as well. Due to fluctuating prices, you should only use this as a general estimate rather than an exact current market value. Also for this reason, prices within this mod can differ from viewing at NukaTrader directly (although most likely not by much). Please keep this in mind when using this. Pricing data was acquired from market research on each specific item across vendor shops as well as external sources such as Reddit. Item drop rates, rarity and general popularity were also taken into account.

I will update the files as often as possible, especially after a game update. Both strings and XML files have been provided depending on your method of install as described below.

INSTALL DIRECTIONS

You have 2 choices to install this:

1. IF YOU HAVE NEVER MODIFIED YOUR STRING FILES

Then things are pretty easy. Just replace your current string files within the Fallout 76 strings folder at SteamLibrary->steamapps->common->Fallout76->Data->strings

There will be 3 files named SeventySix_en. ILSTRINGS, SeventySix_en. DLSTRINGS and SeventySix_en. STRINGS. BEFORE YOU REPLACE THE FILES, BACK UP YOUR EXISTING STRING FILES OUTSIDE OF THE FOLDER (Copy+Paste)!! Then, just replace the existing 3 files with the supplied ones. That's it. If you ever have issues, just replace the files again with the ones you backed up and everything should go back to the way it was before installing this mod.

2. IF YOU HAVE MODIFIED YOUR STRING FILES BEFORE

If you've modified your string files before, then you'll need to use xTranslate to edit your string files manually. This isn't difficult though, please follow this well written and easily followed guide written by stasnobody on how to merge strings. The XML data needed fro this is under additional files. Since you will be generating your own string files, you won't need the ones provided just the XML files.

---------------------------------

Should you come across any prices that are completely off, please report so I can take a look into it and fix. Hope this mod ends up helping you prosper in-game, and happy plan/apparel hunting!
