📋 About This Mod
Development status: The mod is not yet complete. I still need to adjust some visual effects that look too bright and adress some issues that come with the mod itself
Credits
The mod was heavily inspired by the Embers mod created by fromsoftserve, but I think it differs enough to avoid being considered plagiarism. Also, it was created over Shadow Mod to ensure compatibility between both mods so credits for the original autor, rundevAdditional mods used in screenshots: No Character Light by AutomaticP | Texture improvement by bardowastaken | Ds3 Armor and weapons Upscaled x4 by Dreamy9999

No Artificial Lighting darkens the game by removing artificial light sources and adjusting lighting to neutral values, enhancing contrast between bright and dark areas. A niche visual overhaul for players seeking a more atmospheric, realistic lighting experience. With 71 endorsements and 2,560 downloads, it's a modestly popular choice.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Gives the game a more natural, moody atmosphere that's great for immersion.
- Enhances contrast, making light sources like fires and windows really pop.
- Lightweight mod with a dedicated following (71 endorsements) — it's proven to work for many.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 71 endorsements — might be a niche taste, not for everyone.
- Last updated May 2024 — could be outdated if the game has had major patches since.
For players who want a darker, more realistic lighting system without using ENB or reshade presets. If you're tired of overly bright nights and want more contrast, this is for you. Skip if you prefer the vanilla look or want gameplay changes — this is purely visual.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to back up your original lighting files before installing, so you can revert if you don't like the effect.
- Test the mod in different weather conditions and times of day to see if the contrast is too extreme for your taste.
- If you use other lighting mods, try this one alone first to avoid conflicts.
