- Introduction -
This mod has been a long time coming, and over several iterations. It started as a small addition to Immersive First Person, then became Immersive First Person Extended, then it changed code base completely, switching to Redscript and complete re-write from scratch, and in some ways it was a lot better - in some, not so much. The past few months I've learned a lot, and for the past few weeks I've been chipping away on this mod - and I have to say that I'm really quite proud of what I have here. So, what is this?
This mod modifies how the game handle the first person camera view in multiple ways: it allows you to set the height and depth of the camera, it adds an immersive view for when you look down. It adds a look around mode that lets you walk forward and look around, it adds an IK system to weapons to bring them up (or not, your choice) to a proper camera level - it features a vehicle camera, bike leaning, ammo cam, first equip animation view... It has pretty much everything I think I would ever want out of a mod like this.
And then, the crown-jewel of this mod, the configuration. For 2. 0 it all moved into one place: a single in-game configurator that you open with a hotkey, built on my own Redscript Config Framework (a required dependency). No more hopping out to a menu - every feature toggle and every fine value lives in that one popup, paused and tweakable on the spot. That includes a per-vehicle first person tuning system, complete with three different profiles for cornering view, three different profiles for bike leaning and all six profiles tunable directly in-game.
What more: well as I mentioned there's a First Equip animation system: you can set when the animations can play and what their likeliness is and you can set different animation settings for melee, guns and cyberware. Want to get a real good view of your Mantis Blades? Well, now you can!
I have also included tunable settings for the camera in different situations such as when sitting: how much you can turn your head. I've also included driving inertia settings: you can set with a slider directly in game how much breaking the car should push the camera forward.
All settings are saved as JSON by the Config Framework, which means I can do things a plain settings menu can't; expose values it wouldn't handle well, dynamic per-vehicle lists, and so on. To be sure it doesn't overwrite your settings on updates the Framework checks if your settings file exists: if it does it leaves it alone, and if it doesn't it writes out the relevant default values - to give you a fresh start.
Finally, the mod also feature a system to display the head on
