📋 About This Mod

Completely removes all of the "waaah player do something" dialogue that NPCs constantly spout. Allows for blissful nag-free moments of silence game-wide.

!!Read Me First!!

Literally about 7 hours after I published this mod (lol), MistaChedda published his own mod that pretty much entirely obsoletes this one; it is more lightweight, compatible, thorough, and configurable, and adds a dialogue timer configuration option to boot. The only thing this mod does "better" is avoid the 3 dependencies that mod needs; if you would like to avoid dependencies (or are using OS X/an "acquired" copy, where Codeware is unavailable) you have a valid reason to use this mod, but otherwise I advise everyone reading this to stop here and look at that mod instead.

Description

Voiced NPCs in this game have a very annoying habit of constantly verbally nagging the player to make a decision/do something, or to just remind them that they're waiting for an answer or clock's ticking or whatever. Some people find this "immersive." I find it "extremely irritating." So having searched around and finding there isn't any mod already in existence that just removes these lines/stops them from playing (truly a surprise), I went and made it myself!! now every NPC in the game should properly shut the hell up and let me vibe in peace.

probably wouldn't have been possible without the excellent Dialogues Overhaul mod; examining that mod is what allowed me to learn how all this stuff is hooked together!! so shoutouts to S1nonim for that one. (if you are interested in also removing the explicit "timed" dialogues where you are prompted to make a choice in a limited amount of time, please check that mod out!! this mod doesn't touch that behavior at all.)

How it works

There are 2 kinds of these lines in the game, "Reminders" that play on a timer when you idle at a dialogue Choice, and "Urges" which are technically more like quest/AI logic; these listen for Urge signals and then play an Urge line when they receive one. This mod just systematically finds all of those Urges/Reminders that exist and are in use in the game, then severs the connection that actually triggers these things to play the associated voice lines. With this mod, now "Reminders" and "Urges" simply don't do anything at all (assuming I got 'em all, ofc).

Basically, I just dumped every single .scene file in use in the game, converted 'em to JSON, ran a bunch of heuristics to identify all these connection points, severed 'em all with a script or two, then converted the now-modified JSON back into proper .scene files and tada. No more Urges/Reminders and we can finally all breathe easy. Shoutouts to WolvenKit + Gemini 3 for doing all the heavy lifting for me 😆

The above is how 1. 0 worked!! As of 2. 0 the script no longer severs any node connections, it instead just sets all the Choice nodes in the game that have a non-null "reminderParams" to have a null "reminderParams," simple as. This should be a
