📋 About This Mod

Nova Optics

Fix broken first-person vehicle exposure in one click, or fine-tune environment parameters yourself.

What started as a CET version of ENV Tuner Lite, Nova Optics was born as a tool to fix FPP driving issues while also providing additional customization. Realtime updates and conditional application makes Nova Optics superior to ENV Tuner.

Nova Optics also replaces Preem Optics / Blind Begone but takes a step further to maintain compatibility with any weather mod!

WARNING!

Not compatible with ENV Tuner Lite. ENV Tuner can be used alongside Nova Optics but it's best to disable Nova Optics while using it.

What It Does

Cyberpunk 2077's auto-exposure system uses metering parameters that don't account for the restricted viewport in first-person vehicles. The result: blown-out highlights, crushed shadows, and sudden brightness spikes when entering or exiting cars or tunnels.

Nova Optics fixes this at the engine level by overriding the exposure metering curves, bloom, and adaptation speed specifically when you're in a vehicle's first-person camera. It detects camera mode changes in real time, so switching to third-person in a vehicle restores the original rendering, and switching back re-applies the fix instantly.

Auto Mode (Recommended)

For most users, Auto mode is all you need:

  • []Open the CET overlay[/]

    []Check Enable Mod and Auto[/]

[]Done. Close the overlay and drive.[/]

Auto pushes a curated set of exposure, adaptation, and bloom values to the engine without touching your saved settings. When you turn Auto off, your previous manual configuration is restored exactly as it was.

    Manual Mode

Uncheck Auto to access the full parameter editor:

    • []Exposure Overrides - Min/max curve offsets, FPP vehicle fix, vehicle-only toggle, transition duration[/]

[]Exposure Adaptation - Adaptation speed up/down, vehicle FPP only toggle[/]

      []Vignette - Exponent control[/]

[]Bloom - Color scale, size, anamorphic, luminance threshold, scene color blend, vehicle FPP only with smooth transitions[/]

[]Lens Flare - Chromatic effect, halo width, saturation, scale[/]

[]Chromatic Aberration - Exponent, margin, size X/Y, subpixel dispersal[/]

Every slider pushes changes to the engine in real time for instant preview.

A Vehicle FPP preset is included for users who want curated vehicle-specific overrides with bloom adjustments.
