📋 About This Mod
VIDEO SHOWCASE FOR VERSION 2. 0
STATUS AS OF JANUARY 04th 2025: Still working fine in Cyberpunk 2. 2, no functionality updates are needed as far as we know. For those seeing this mod mentioned in their Redscript crash logs (found at Cyberpunk 2077\r6\logs): the "EulerAngles" thing is just a warning (and an incorrect one at that) and by itself does not cause crashes. Please read the whole log to verify if this mod is actually the one causing any crashes you might be getting. If so, please share it so that we can look into fixes.
STATUS AS OF DECEMBER 29th 2023: It's working fine. And we added a compatibility patch for the new (and excellent) mod Blood Fx - EGGHANCED under Optional Files. Because of the way our script works, using Blood Fx without the compatibility patch will spawn blood splatters for car impacts instead of the correct ones. So make sure to grab the optional file to fix this, unzip to main Cyberpunk directory, and make sure no other .archive files from this mod are in it. "A_MBSCompatibleWithEgghancedBlood.archive" is meant to be the only .archive file from this mod if "EgghancedBloodFx.archive" is in your mod folder. Do not change the filenames; they affect which mod loads first and which files overwrite which. We've changed the absolute bare minimum to ensure that our script functions correctly, preserving Blood Fx's features as much as possible. Theoretically this optional file should increase compatibility with any other blood mods, but Blood Fx is the one it's directed towards. Let us know in the Posts tab if any problems arise.
--------------------------------
Requires REDSCRIPT. Cybercmd was required briefly while the author of Redscript fixed a problem but as of this writing it's no longer needed. Cyber Engine Tweaks is also no longer needed and if you have any script from previous versions of More Blood Splatters in the CET folder, you should remove it. See below for more upgrading instructions.
Changelog is available above.
--------------------------------
DESCRIPTION:
Cyberpunk has an extensive but practically unused blood decal system; the chances of any individual gunshot triggering blood stains and splatters around the NPC are very low, and melee weapons of any kind do not spawn splatters at all.
This mod ensures that blood splatters will always spawn when it's believable for them to do so, be it from gunshots, blades, explosions or thrown knives. If you're going for a non-lethal playstyle, don't worry: blood splatters have a very reduced spawn rate from non-lethal damage, and you can configure the Redscript file to disable the spawns entirely, or increase them to the same rate as lethal weapons. It's up to you.
This mod requires Redscript. Cyber Engine Tweaks is no longer required since patch 2. 0 has fixed the issue that we used CET to solve
More Blood Splatters enhances Cyberpunk 2077's underused blood decal system with a customizable script-based implementation. It's a popular visual mod with 9,373 endorsements and nearly a million downloads, last updated in December 2023.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust: 9,373 endorsements and nearly a million downloads show this mod is a fan favorite.
- Tackles a real gap: the base game's blood decals are weak, and this mod directly addresses that.
- Script-based customization means you can tweak the blood effects to your liking, not just a one-size-fits-all texture swap.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in December 2023 — with Cyberpunk's frequent patches, it might not work with the latest version without tweaks.
- Script-based mods can be more finicky than simple texture replacements, especially if you're not comfortable with config files.
For Cyberpunk 2077 players who want more visceral combat feedback and feel the default blood effects are too tame. If you're into immersion and don't mind a bit of setup, this is for you. Skip if you prefer a clean, untouched Night City or want gameplay changes — this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Check the mod's page for any required dependencies or compatibility notes before installing, since the description is sparse.
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex, let it handle the script files to avoid manual placement errors.
- Test the mod in a quick combat encounter to see the blood effects and adjust the settings to your preference.
