📋 About This Mod
- []This mod ensures that "Meet Hanako at Embers" will never trigger unless V calls Hanako, regardless of the order of your quest progression. Unlike vanilla, where the call automatically initiates when the Hellman and Alt quests are completed before talking to Hanako's proxy doll.[/]

Also removes the 10-second timer that auto-triggers the call when the requirements are met, so it now needs manual initiation, unlike vanilla.
[/]MORE CONTEXT:
This mod addresses two issues I have with the structure of Act 3, specifically the conclusion of Search and Destroy and the beginning of Nocturne Op55N1.
Problem #1:
When Play It Safe is played before Transmission, completing Search and Destroy does not auto-trigger the "Meet Hanako at Embers" objective of Nocturne Op55N1. Instead, "Call Hanako" is triggered. This is fine and is desirable, because V is not hurried to go to Embers.
My problem, however, is when Play It Safe is played after Transmission, completing Search and Destroy auto-triggers the "Meet Hanako at Embers" objective of Nocturne Op55N1.
That makes me feel rushed to meet Hanako and breaks my immersion when prioritizing other Act 3 missions.
- A VERY SUBJECTIVE RANT: It's not immersive for me that Hanako will be sitting at Embers for an eternity to wait for some expendable merc. Even with V's claim that she's alone against Yorinobu, and Hanako leaning into that, pretending she's the underdog, Hanako still holds so much power. Hanako only makes herself look weak to let V think she needs them more than she actually does. This, coupled with V's desperation, enables her to manipulate the unsuspecting merc. Hanako is a manipulative fox, has other pawns, and has the working engram of her father. She's got enough cards to win against her dumbutt brother. She's resourceful enough to find other mercs to take the shot (and be shot) for her and enact her plans without V. Lastly, during "The Devil" ending, we can see that V doesn't really play a big part in convincing the Arasaka board. In the end, all is settled by Hanako and Saburo's engram.
How it's solved:
- The solution is to make the game behave as if Transmission is played after Play It Safe. In that scenario, the "Meet Hanako at Embers" objective of Nocturne Op55N1 isn't auto triggered; it will default to the "Call Hanako" objective instead. Now, in any scenario/quest order, a call with Hanako is required for her to invite V to Embers. In my opinion, that will make it seem that she only goes to Embers after the call, thus justifying doing other missions first.
Problem #2:
Now that the call with Hanako is always a requirement for the Embers meetup, there is a
This Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay mod postpones the 'Meet Hanako at Embers' quest trigger, requiring players to manually call Hanako to start the final mission. It offers a simple solution for players who want to complete side content without the game pushing them toward the ending. With 337 endorsements and recent updates, it's a popular quality-of-life tweak.

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 337 endorsements and over 32k downloads.
- Gives you freedom to finish side gigs without the main quest nagging you.
- Simple, focused fix—no bloat, just what it says.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires manual call to trigger, which might break immersion for some.
- Only affects one quest trigger—if you wanted broader ending changes, this isn't it.
For Cyberpunk 2077 players who hate being rushed into the endgame and want to explore Night City at their own pace. Perfect for completionists who want to do every side quest before the final mission. Skip if you're fine with the original trigger or want more extensive ending overhauls.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to manually call Hanako from your phone when you're ready—otherwise the quest won't start.
- If you're using a mod manager, just drop the files in; if not, place them in the game's mod folder.
- This mod is a simple tweak, so it should work with most other mods, but always check for conflicts if you have quest-related mods.
