Give 'Em Guns

Made for game v2. 31. Tested with PL, may partially work without.

TL;DR

Have you installed a few mods with new weapons? A few dozen maybe? Or so many that you can't even name them all?

Do you want to see them have more use?

Then this mod might be for you!

Just hit a button and your modded arsenal will start to randomly pop up here and there: in a container you loot, or in the hands of an NPC.

After all, V only has three hands slots, so why not share?

Welcome to anniversary edition, aka "what one year of Cyberpunk modding does to a person" edition.

This was my second ever Cyberpunk mod and, while it went better than expected, it suffered a lot from my lack of experience.

Now, a year down the line, I tried to fix and improve on the basic concept with v2. 0. 0.

To that end, I have completely reworked the actual mechanics of giving enemies guns: there is NO MORE WAIT for the mod to populate their weapon pools.

You just launch the game, load you save file, and there they are: modded weapons in the hands of an NPC.

And you do not have to take someone down to get a new toy anymore! Modded guns will now also be injected into generic containers, so you can stumble on one while doing the Jamrock Shuffle around Night City.

So go and find some!

NOTE 1: It is highly recommended you do a clean reinstall of the mod when upgrading to v2. 0. 0.

Save your configuration by backing up your weapon metadata directory:

bin/x64/plugins/cyber_engine_tweaks/mods/GiveEmGuns/Data/Weapons

This might not be necessary if you use a mod manager similar to Mod Organizer 2, as that stores your configuration in a separate location.

NOTE 2: After upgrade, all of the weapons you have received from this mod (as in, picked up after taking down their owner) will DISAPPEAR from your inventory/stash. This will only affect the items dropped by NPCs, not the actual weapons added by weapon mods. Rule of thumb: if it is Iconic—it will be safe.

This is to allow support for more weapon mods.

Specifically the ones not using the `Items.name_of_item` convention for their items.

This mod used to create non-Iconic copies of modded weapons by cloning `Items.name_of_gun` into `GiveEmGuns.name_of_gun`, but now it will instead switch to `GiveEmGuns. Items.name_of_gun` to support weapons that do not start with `Items.`.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I suggest selling/disassembling these weapons before upgrading.
