📋 About This Mod
The garage that does it all. Realtime customization, claim & sell, repair & clear, custom music and user-created dynamic locations.
This time, we're doing the shout outs first. Without the help of the modding community, none of this would have been possible.
First and foremost: psiberx, keanuWheeze, spirit, MisterChedda, roms1383, hgyi56, anygoodname, rennalah, .marcavian, djkovrik, and Rayshader for answer the plethora of questions with the utmost patience, providing thorough guidance through the entirety of development, and allowing me to use snippets of their work where needed.
Next, and in no particular order: _umat_, Lazorr, dragonzkiller, oranje3, myopicimpulse, meiscooldude, robber804, elminister, tohuw for the support, bouncing of ideas, any input that lead me toward an epiphany, and overall inspiration for greatness.
Last, but certainly not least: my partner in crime and the reason I made this mod in the first place, SDH0. Their unprecedented quality of work, ingenuitity and creativity in the vehicle space, and genuine passion for the game drove me to create something that could support their dream of having a realtime and immersive garage tuning experience. So this is for you, SDH0! May you continue to bless us with the highest quality vehicles.
If I missed any names, I sincerely apologize. As you can see, I worked with a lot of amazing people on this project and it can be hard to keep track of everyone. Please send me a message so I can add you to this wall!
GarageCore is a full-featured vehicle services framework for Cyberpunk 2077. It brings real garage mechanics to Night City - places where you can sell rides, swap appearances, get repairs done, ditch a heat level, and listen to some tunes while you do it. It's not a menu. It's a location-based experience with actual rules.
Under the hood, it's also a platform. Other mods plug into it to add their own services, their own vehicles, and their own garage spots without touching the core files, but more on that in a future update.
When you open a garage and start browsing appearances, the change happens live on the car in front of you. No placeholder previews - you're looking at the actual vehicle update in real time as you scroll. Back out and it snaps back to where it was. Confirm and the look sticks, persistent through saves.
For addon vehicles built with the SDH0 schema system, customization goes deeper - hood variants, spoilers, body kits, bumpers, and other part categories defined per-vehicle. A cart system lets you queue up multiple changes and check out all at once. The constraint system enforces incompatibility rules set by the addon author, so if hood option A conflicts with spoiler option B, the system resolves it automatically rather than letting you end up in a broken state.
Appearance swaps are blocked on totaled vehicles, and optionally on heavily damaged ones - no repainting a wreck.
Selling: You drive a vehicle to a garage, open the UI, and sell it. Pricing isn't a flat number - it factors in base dealer value, vehicle class, condition, appearance rarity, the garage's economic tier, and how much the garage can actually afford to pay at that moment.
After you confirm, the garage doesn't just hand you cash immediately. The car goes off-summon list right away, but the money comes after a simulated processing delay - a few in-game hours depending on the garage tier. During that window, if you try to drive the sold vehicle out of the zone, the sale is cancelled and you're banned from that garage. Permanently. The game detects you mounting the specific vehicle entity and leaving the proximity boundary, not just any vehicle exit.
If the garage's cash pool has drained by the time the timer fires - say, another transaction hit it in the meantime - the sale falls through and the vehicle comes back. The re-check happens at completion, not just at confirm.
Claiming: Find a vehicle you don't own and the Claim button will be available if it's claimable. Y
