📋 About This Mod
This mod greatly expands the appearances in all citizen/crowd .ent files by using appearances that already exist in the .app files but where not referenced in the .ent files.
There are many present variants of main appearances stored in the .app files.
With this mod, those variants are now referenced in the .ent files, making them fully usable for modders.
Maybe the internal vanilla crowd system works differently, but both my mod—and I assume the other duplicate randomizer—rely on what is present in the .ent files. If an appearance is not referenced in an .ent file, it cannot be used... by my mod at least 100%not.
So this mod primarily makes it possible for mods like:
Duplicate and generic NPC randomizer
also (i think):
No More Duplicate NPCs
to use the additional apperances as they are now referenced in the ent files directly.
This mod helps reduce residual duplicates (or removed NPCs) when usings Duplicate and generic NPC randomizer from 15–20% down to about 1% on vanilla high crowd settings.
All appearances are added to the .ent files via ArchiveXL, so no .ent files are replaced, making this mod fully safe and compatible with other mods.
I also have the impression that newly added appearances in citizen .ent files are not always used automatically by the vanilla crowd system.
Therefore, you should definitely use one of the mentioned randomizer mods to see all new variants properly in-game.
I have added 1,552 appearances across all relevant .ent files (also EP1 ones if present):
aldecaldos: 123
arasaka: 86
children: 113
corporat: 184
default + added E3 crowd: 78 (This replaces the E3Crowd mod, which is not based on ArchiveXL and is therefore less mod-friendly. Do not use both.)
homeless: 60
lowlife: 106
mallrat: 22
nightlife: 92
nonbin: 126
workout: 54
youngster: 66
You can freely combine this mod with other mods—for example, my workout citizen add-ons.
You can also use it with modded .ent files: they will be expanded, not replaced, just like vanilla ones.
Hopefully others will add more cool new appearances as well!
FAQ
1) Will this “just work”?
Probably not by itself.
You will most likely need an NPC duplicate replacer or randomizer to actually see the new appearances. For example, I was unable to see my workout gym add-on appearances unless I used such a mod.
2) Conflicts
There should be no conflicts at all.
This mod expands the main .ent files regardless of how you have modified them. I also used a unique naming scheme to avoid overlap.
3) Problems with CET mods that replace .ent files at runtime
Expands citizen appearances in all .ent files by over 1,500, using existing in-game appearances that were previously unreferenced. A performance-friendly visual variety mod for players who want more diverse NPCs without new assets.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge variety boost (1,500+ appearances) makes cities feel alive
- No new assets means no performance hit from extra models
- Community favorite with 466 endorsements and 91k downloads
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects appearances, not AI or behavior—don't expect gameplay changes
- May conflict with other mods that edit the same .ent files
- Last updated November 2025—check for patches if you're on a newer game version
For Cyberpunk 2077 players who want more visual diversity in NPCs without sacrificing performance. Perfect if you're tired of seeing the same faces everywhere. Skip if you're looking for gameplay overhauls—this is purely cosmetic.
