📋 About This Mod
Did you ever take a good look at a child and noticed that they were just shrunk-down adults with a custom animation and slightly different proportions?
And could you then never un-see it?
This mod is here to help.
A facial resculpt changes the childrens' facial proportions to something more realistic - probably not perfect, but far away from uncanny valley.
Install via mod manager, or extract directly into your Cyberpunk 2077 root directory.
This mod has no dependencies and works entirely standalone!
This mod is a model replacer for files that aren't touched by other mods. For that reason, it should remain compatible forever. But even if not, the worst thing that'll happen is that it does nothing.
As of 2. 31, it is confirmed working, and I don't expect that to change.
A few children still look like an alien invader's attempt to fit in, especially the little blonde one with Nancy's hair. Still, overall it should be an improvement.
If you find any kids with missing or mismatched parts, please let me know!
Better Children is a cosmetic mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that replaces the faces of child NPCs to make them look more childlike and less unsettling. It requires no dependencies, making it a simple drop-in improvement for players who want a more natural look for Night City's minors. With 898 endorsements and 200,035 downloads, it's a popular choice for visual polish.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge download count (200k+) shows it's a go-to for fixing those uncanny kid faces
- Zero dependencies means you can just drop it in and go—no mod manager juggling
- Endorsement ratio is solid (898), so the community backs this one
⚠️ Cons
- Only touches faces—if you wanted new outfits or behaviors for kids, this isn't it
- Last updated in August 2024—might not be compatible with the latest game patches, so check before installing
- No detailed changelog or screenshots in the description, so you're flying blind on exactly what changes
For Cyberpunk 2077 players who are tired of seeing kids that look like tiny adults with wrinkles. If you're doing a screenshot-heavy playthrough or just want to feel less creeped out by Night City's youth, this is a quick fix. Skip it if you're looking for gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a cosmetic mod, you can install it mid-playthrough without breaking saves—just drop the files into your mod folder.
- If you're using other character overhaul mods, load order might matter; put Better Children last to ensure its face changes take priority.
- Check the mod page for any compatibility notes with the latest Cyberpunk 2077 patch, as updates can break older mods.
