📋 About This Mod
This is a simple mod which makes troops always prefer spears (over other melee weapons) by default in non-siege/non-naval battles.
By default, troops will switch to their sidearms if the number of dismounted enemies who are closer than 2m is greater than the number of mounted enemies who are closer than 50m.
You can configure the multiplier for spear preference in both non-siege/non-naval and siege/naval battles in the mod options, as well as the distance to nearby enemies to trigger switching to sidearms.
Known limitations:

[]Troops may not prefer their spears if their other melee weapons (including the melee mode of their thrown weapons) have much higher damage than their spears. The solution is to either give them stronger spears and/or weaker sidearms.[/]
[]Troops may not prefer their spears if their one-handed skill is too high and their polearm skill is too low. The solution is to either give them higher polearm skill and/or lower one-handed skill.[/]
[]Troops may not prefer their spears if they have both a two-handed spear and a shield. The solution is to either change their two-handed spear to a one-handed spear or remove their shield.[/]
[]Troops may refuse to switch to their sidearms if the game does not recognize that the sidearms are non-spear melee weapons. This can occur with custom melee weapons added by other mods.[/]
If you encounter a crash, always provide the crash report from ButterLib. It makes it much easier for me to troubleshoot it.
