Fast Build Storage

Description

Fast Build Storage is a quality-of-life mod for X4: Foundations that clears construction-storage docking bottlenecks.

When one of your freighters is delivering construction materials to one of your station build storages, the mod can complete the delivery remotely once the ship is close to the storage. The cargo is transferred only when the construction project still needs the full contracted amount, then the delivery's active docking orders are released.

This is aimed at the familiar situation where a large construction project has many L/XL freighters waiting around its build storage while only a small number of physical docks are available.

The mod does not create wares, does not add money, and does not speed up the actual construction timer. It only skips the unnecessary final docking wait for eligible player-owned deliveries.

Version 1. 01 adds in-game settings for the remote-unload radius, scan interval, and maximum successful unloads per scan.

Requirements

  Installation instructions

  1. Download and extract the archive.

  2. Copy the fast_build_storage folder into your X4 Foundations extensions folder.

  3. Verify that the final path is:

  <X4 Foundations>/extensions/fast_build_storage/content.xml

  4. Install and enable Mod Support APIs by SirNukes.

  5. Start X4 and enable Fast Build Storage in the Extensions menu.

  6. Load your save and use normal trade/delivery orders for your freighters.

  Always make a backup save before adding, updating, or removing mods.

  Updating from pre-1. 0 versions: versions 1. 00 and newer use the clean extension ID

  panandafog_fast_build_storage. X4 may therefore display it as a new extension when loading a save that used an older Fast Build Storage test build. Make a backup save first.

  Settings

  After loading a save, open Settings → Extension Options → Fast Build Storage. Mod Support APIs saves the selected values. Changes apply immediately, except that a changed scan interval takes effect after the current wait finishes.
