📋 About This Mod
A DeadAir-style refinement of the vanilla economy, taken further: stronger faction economies, factions building their own trade centers, wharves and shipyards, and fleet/module limits that grow with controlled territory.
DeadAir Economy Overhaul (DA Classic) — X4 9.x Compatibility Fork
Community-maintained continuation of DeadAir Economy Overhaul by DeadAirRT under the GPL-3. 0 licence he granted at retirement in September 2025. Full economy rebalance preserved, tested on X4 9. 0.
Companion to DeadAir Scripts (DA Classic) — install both for the full DA experience. If you don't want the three DA custom wares (schematics + labor contracts), use the No DA Wares fork instead.
What it does
Like the original DeadAir mods, this fork refines the vanilla game's economic balance and pushes it further. Extensive changes to pricing, production chains, region yields, and station spawn make the universe feel like a real, war-tempered economy rather than a placid vanilla sandbox. Faction economies are much stronger.
-
[]Pricing rebalance across hundreds of wares.[/]
[]Production chain tuning for scale — bigger factories, longer supply chains.[/]
[]Region yield redesign for meaningful sector economics.[/]
[]Bigger NPC factories — station module cap raised, extra clearance, multi-location expansions.[/]
[]Race-specific structural connectors — Argon, Teladi, Split, Paranid, Boron, Terran all get proper aesthetic prefabs.[/]
[]Larger built-in storage (~12 hours of production per station).[/]
[]Hullparts -> claytronics recipe swap on build modules — reduces supply-chain seizure risk.[/]
[]Workforce effect strengthened — populated stations get meaningful production bonuses.[/]
[]DA custom wares — da_mil_schematics, da_adv_schematics, da_laborunion_contracts added as secondary production drivers throughout the economy.[/]
[]Full DLC compatibility (Split / Terran / Pirate / Boron / Timelines).[/]
Original DA gameplay logic is preserved — no behavioural changes vs DeadAir's v1. 13HF1 baseline; this fork focuses on keeping it running cleanly on current X4.
Requirements
-
[]X4 Foundations 9. 0 or later.[/]
[]All four Egosoft DLCs: Split Vendetta, Cradle of Humanity, Tides of Avarice, Fish People (required — Timelines optional).[/]
[]No API dependencies for this mod alone; add SirNukes Mod Support APIs if you also install the companion DA Scripts.[/]
AI use disclosure
In line with Egosoft's modding guidelines, this mod discloses its use of AI tools:
[]Code — the X4 9.x compatibility and performance work was developed with AI-assisted coding (Claude Code). Every change was checked against vanilla game source, tested in-game, and verified from debug logs.[/]
-
[]X4 Foundations 9. 0 or later.[/]
