Remastered First Person View Toggle

===================================

A script-only first-person camera for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, game version 5. 0

(the current "next-gen" release). No .asi loader or DLL required.

- The camera sits at Geralt's eyes and follows his head as he moves.

- Hair, hood and mask are hidden. The body, arms and weapons stay visible, and his

shadow keeps its head.

- The body turns with the mouse, and WASD moves relative to where you look (Skyrim-style).

- Sword attacks in first person are forward swings only: no spins or turn-around attacks.

- Optional center-screen reticle (Ctrl + R).

- Cutscenes, dialogues, menus and horseback use the normal game cameras. First person

resumes afterwards.

REQUIREMENTS

------------

- The Witcher 3 version 5. 0 (tested with DirectX 12).

- Mods must be enabled in REDlauncher. If the "Mods" option in the game's settings

is greyed out, open REDlauncher, go to The Witcher 3's settings and enable mods.

(This is stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\CD Projekt Red\REDlauncher\config\launcher.ini

as  <your id>\witcher3=true  under .)

INSTALLATION

------------

1. Close the game.

2. Copy the "mods" folder from this archive into your Witcher 3 installation folder,

so you end up with:

<Witcher 3>\mods\modFirstPersonRemastered\content\scripts\local\firstPersonRemastered.ws

3.  Run the .bat file in the archive to select your keys.

4. Start the game. The first start takes a little longer while the game compiles scripts.

First person is on by default.

While Ctrl is held, the scroll wheel does not cycle signs and R does not drink a potion.

Left Ctrl still toggles walking, but now when you release it, and not at all if you

used it for Ctrl + scroll or Ctrl + R.

CONSOLE COMMANDS (optional)

---------------------------

Enable the console by adding  DBGConsoleOn=true  under in

Documents\The Witcher 3\dx12user.settings. It opens with the key below Esc

(~ on US keyboards, § on Nordic keyboards).

fprtoggle        toggle first person

fprfov 75        field of view (45 to 100)

fprsens 0. 25      mouse sensitivity

fprheight 0. 07    eye height above the head bone (metres)

fproffset 0. 17    how far forward the camera sits when looking straight ahead

fprdown 0. 25      how far forward the camera moves when looking down

fprlead 1. 0      keeps the camera from lagging behind the head while moving (0 = off)

fprreticle        reticle on/off

fprcombat        forward-only sword attacks on/off

fprheadshadow    keep the head for its shadow (default) / hide the head completely

fprdebug          on-screen camera readout on/off

Settings from the console reset when the game restarts.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS

-----------------

- On horseback the camera switches to third person.

- Only normal light and heavy sword attacks are replaced. Whirl, Rend, counterattacks,

finishers, fist fighting and Ciri's sections still use the vanilla animations.

- The reticle shows where you look. Attacks still use the game's soft targeting, which

picks the nearest enemy roughly in front of you.

- The shadow's head has no hair, since hair is hidden in first person.

- The game has no real strafe animations, so walking sideways or backwards slides a little.

- Walking backwards can look somewhat off

- Enemy lock-on does not turn the camera.

1. Delete <Witcher 3>\mods\modFirstPersonRemastered.

2. Remove the key bindings:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\Install-Keybinds.ps1 -Uninstall

or delete the four FPR_ lines from each section by hand.

COMPATIBILITY

-------------

The mod adds its own script file and uses script annotations (@wrapMethod), so it does

not replace vanilla scripts. It wraps these functions, and mods that replace them

outright may conflict:

CR4Game. OnGameStarted, CR4Player. OnSpawned, CR4Player. OnDestroyed,

CPlayerInput. OnToggleSigns, CPlayerInput. OnCommWalkToggle, CPlayerInput. OnCommDrinkPotion1,

CR4PlayerStateCombat. OnPerformAttack, W3PlayerWitcherStateCombatSword. OnCreateAttackAspects

Combat overhaul mods that change Geralt's sword combos may override the forward-only

attacks. Other first-person or c
