📋 About This Mod
When you use your Witcher senses it switches to first person view. That's it. Works for either mouse or controllers.
First Person Witcher Sesnes
Play in third person as usual. Whenever Witcher Senses are active, the camera switches to
first person, through Geralt's own eyes. When the senses end, it goes back to third person.
- Uses the normal Witcher Senses button (right mouse button, or L2 on a controller), with
hold or toggle, whatever your game is set to. No new key needed.
- The Witcher Senses highlights and color effects work as usual.
- The camera sits at Geralt's eyes and follows his head as he moves. Hair, hood and mask
are hidden, and his shadow keeps its head.
- The body turns with the mouse, and movement is relative to where you look.
- First person starts looking where the third-person camera looked, and hands the
direction back when the senses end.
- On horseback the camera stays in third person.
- Cutscenes, dialogues and menus use the normal game cameras.
REQUIREMENTS
------------
- The Witcher 3 version 5. 0 (tested with DirectX 12).
- Mods must be enabled in REDlauncher. If the "Mods" option in the game's settings
is greyed out, open REDlauncher, go to The Witcher 3's settings and enable mods.
(This is stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\CD Projekt Red\REDlauncher\config\launcher.ini
as <your id>\witcher3=true under .)
INSTALLATION
------------
1. Close the game.
2. Copy the "mods" folder from this archive into your Witcher 3 installation folder,
so you end up with:
<Witcher 3>\mods\modFirstPersonSenses\content\scripts\local\1stperson_senses.ws
3. Start the game. The first start takes a little longer while the game compiles scripts.
Optional: a center-screen reticle while in first person (Ctrl + R). It needs a key
binding (pick A or B):
A) Automatic: right-click Install-Keybinds.ps1 and choose "Run with PowerShell",
or run this in PowerShell from the extracted folder:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\Install-Keybinds.ps1
It edits Documents\The Witcher 3\input.settings and saves a backup next to it
(input.settings.fpr-<date>.bak). Running it again only adds what is missing.
B) Manual: open Documents\The Witcher 3\input.settings in a text editor. Under EACH
of these section headers:
add these two lines directly below the header:
IK_LControl=(Action=FPR_Modifier)
IK_R=(Action=FPR_Reticle)
Keep the existing lines for Left Ctrl and R; the mod expects them.
While Ctrl is held, R does not drink a potion. Left Ctrl still toggles walking, but
now when you release it, and not at all if you used it for Ctrl + R.
"Reset to Default" in the Key Bindings menu removes the binding; run it again then.
CONSOLE COMMANDS (optional)
---------------------------
Enable the console by adding DBGConsoleOn=true under in
Documents\The Witcher 3\dx12user.settings. It opens with the key below Esc
(~ on US keyboards, § on Nordic keyboards).
fprsenses first person during Witcher Senses on/off (saved with your game)
fprfov 75 field of view (45 to 100)
fprsens 0. 25 mouse sensitivity
fprheight 0. 07 eye he
