One settings hub for the Malaombra suite

Features

Core puts installed feature settings under Settings > Mods > Malaombra's Mods. Feature pages are hidden when their scripts are absent. It centralizes menu definitions rather than distributing competing gameplay.xml files with each feature.

An optional alternate quick-save action can be assigned in Settings > Key bindings; vanilla F5 remains available. The debug-console binding needs a separate Windows Python helper and DBGConsoleOn configuration. Installing the mod alone does not enable that helper. Console delivery has been tested on Windows, but opening the retail console is not guaranteed.

Requirements and installation

The Witcher 3 Remastered 5. 0 on PC.

Use one Core variant, never both. For Vortex, select the explicitly Vortex-only archive and let its Witcher 3 extension merge the menu XML. Do not use that variant with TW3MM or copy its partial gameplay.xml/input.xml over native game files.

For manual/other-manager installation use the generic archive: place modMalaombraCore under Mods, then run Python 3. 10+ with Mods/modMalaombraCore/menu-support/install_menu.py "<game directory>" for a preview. Repeat with --apply while the game is closed. The generic archive contains neutral fragments and does not register menus automatically. The installer preserves native/third-party definitions, rejects missing Accessibility or ambiguous edits, and stores backups outside the mod folder. It refuses linked manager output; use the Vortex variant for Vortex.

If native menus are already missing, restore matching original game XML with file verification or a known backup, then reintegrate mod menus. The installer does not recreate unknown vanilla content. The optional input.settings.part.txt contains actions to merge into matching sections of Documents/The Witcher 3/input.settings. The Windows debug-console helper separately requires Python 3 and DBGConsoleOn=true; installing Core alone does not start it.

Removal and compatibility

Remove dependent features first. For generic/manual Core run its installer with --remove --apply before removing its folder: only owned menu groups/actions are removed. For the Vortex variant remove/deploy through Vortex. Keep backups of third-party configuration before game-file verification. Reapply manual integration if another manager later replaces the XML. TW3MM automatic integration has not been tested. Runtime traversal preserves native/third-party payloads, but other replacements of the same menu methods still require conflict review. User preferences and saves are not changed by menu integration.

What changed in 0. 1. 23-dev

Separate Vortex-only and manual-integration packages, with installation and selective removal instructions. Runtime menu traversal now preserves existing array identity and unknown native/third-party rows. The manual installer includes preview, backups and validation before editing.

The reported disappearance of Accessibility after a TW3MM installation was not reproduced; its cause remains unconfirmed. This release improves installation safeguards and does not claim to repair already missing vanilla content.

Release status

Version 0. 1. 23-dev. The Vortex variant has been installed and audited locally. Standalone/joint compilation and 74 tests pass; 191 pre-existing menu controls are preserved in the deployed XML. Retail menu confirmation is pending.
