Drinking strong alcohol (Classic and Next Gen)

two separate

versions in

one archive

if necessary. If there is only one version in the archive, it is universal. If the mod is only for OG, I will especially note this.

If you use a mod manager, you should repack the archive with the mod, leaving in it only what is suitable for your version of the game. Why don't I post separate archives? It's more convenient for me.

With this mod, Geralt will be able to drink any strong alcohol that was previously only available as alchemical ingredients. All of this alcohol is moved to the food tab in the inventory, and it can be placed in quick-use slots.

‘White Gull’ has the effect of food (or drink, if a mod that restores this effect is installed, for example, Hunger and Thirst) of the 3rd level, ‘Bottomless Carafe’ – the effect of the 1st level, and the rest of strong alcohol – the effect of the 2nd level.

Any strong alcohol has a toxicity of 10 units.

If Ghost Mode is installed, the toxicity will increase to 15 units, considering that, for example, wine there has a toxicity of 10 units. At the same time, the 'Gourmet' perk, which completely removes the toxicity of other alcohol, will reduce the toxicity of strong alcohol to 10 units.

Maybe need a similar code adaptation to interact with other mods that add toxicity to regular alcohol.

However, the mechanics of using strong alcohol in alchemy have not changed – you will still spend it on making and replenishing potions.

With one exception: the ‘Bottomless Carafe’ can no longer be used indefinitely to replenish potions, but can instead be drunk an unlimited number of times.

However, there is anoptional version that does not make changes to the ‘Bottomless Carafe’ – so, it remains alcohol, with which you can replenish potions, but can not drink it.

Option: shortened screen blur when drinking alcohol

Reduces the duration of this effect from 30 to 5 seconds. Can be used independently of the main mod, but if it is used, this effect will last 10 seconds for strong alcohol affected by the mod.

Alternative Radial Menu - you can find the compatibility patch in the optional files. In fact, this patch won't cause any problems even without my mod.

Recommended mods

- Hunger and Thirst – to have a separate effect for beverages and the ability to fine-tune the effects of food and beverages.

- Items duration format and actual potions duration – for a better perception of the duration of food and not only.

- Complete Animations Redux – to really feel what you eat and beverage, and not just spend some item to get a healing buff.

- Food Buff Icon – to really feel that you are eating a specific food.

- Fix Regeneration (integrated in BiA NG!) – fixes incorrect calculation of regeneration.

Installation:

Place the modDrinkingStrongAlcohol folder in the Mods folder. Optionally use 'Witcher Script Merger' to resolve conflicts.
