📋 About This Mod
Bring back the pre-5.0 alchemy rules as an option: 5% alchemy bonus per skill level, the old Delayed Recovery and full Cluster Bomb damage, plus the original 75% toxicity limit. Keep decoctions out of toxicity damage and fix wrong alchemy
Brings back the pre-5. 0 alchemy rules as an option and fixes some alchemy bugs of the Remastered update.
Potions, decoctions, oils and bombs themselves were barely touched by patch 5. 0. What changed are a few hidden numbers and skills, and that is why alchemy builds feel weaker. This mod lets you pick for each of them.
Options > Mods > Alchemy Reforged. Pick the Remastered or Classic preset, or set each option yourself.
-
[]Alchemy bonus per skill level: every level of an equipped alchemy skill adds potion and decoction duration and bomb damage. Remastered: 2% per level. Classic: 5% per level, like before 5. 0.[/]
[]Delayed Recovery: Remastered adds 5 seconds to your active potions when you drink while toxicity is high. Classic brings back the old skill: potions don't wear off while potion toxicity stays above 85/70/55%.[/]
[]Cluster Bombs: Remastered fragments deal 40% of the bomb's damage each. Classic fragments deal full damage.[/]
[]Decoctions count towards toxicity damage (on by default): a single decoction already puts you at the 50% toxicity damage threshold, so every potion after it hurts. Turn this off and only potion toxicity counts towards the threshold. The HUD marker moves along with it.[/]
[]Toxicity damage threshold: Remastered starts hurting you at 50% toxicity, like every version since patch 4. 0. Original game moves it to 75% as in the early versions of the game. Heightened Tolerance adds 10% per rank on top, so at rank 3 toxicity never hurts you, like the old Euphoria builds. Not part of the Classic preset, because 4. 04 used 50% too.[/]
On by default, can be turned off in the same menu.
-
[]Acquired Tolerance, Synergy, High Tolerance and Frenzy tooltips show what the skills really do. The game shows wrong numbers for all four (for example Acquired Tolerance still gives 0. 5 per recipe, not 1).[/]
[]With Metabolic Boost you can drink a potion when the skill brings its toxicity below your maximum. The game refused that before checking the skill.[/]
[]Advanced Pyrotechnics also protects you from your own bomb clouds and fire, not only from the impact.[/]
The default is Remastered with the fixes on, so installing the mod changes nothing about the rules until you pick another preset. Nothing is stored in your save, removing the mod takes you straight back to the vanilla rules.
Old alchemy skills
Heightened Tolerance, Fixative, Killing Spree and the other old alchemy skills still work in the game code but are hidden in the new skill tree. Skill Tree Reforged brings them back, either with the full original tree or with its Hybrid option that keeps the Remastered tree and adds a few old skills to it. Both mods work on their own and together.
Menu texts are in English, German, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Czech, using the game's own terms. Installation
Copy the mods and bin folders from the archive into your game folder (the one that contains content). Works with a mod manager too. Scripts are compiled when the game starts.
Uninstall: delete mods\modAlchemyReforged and bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\modAlchemyReforged.xml.
Compatibility
-
[]Requires game version 5. 0 or newer.[/]
[]No game scripts are replaced, the mod hooks in with annotations, so Script Merger is not needed.[/]
[]Tested together with Skill Tree Reforged, Brothers in Arms, Friendly HUD and Immersive Time.[/]
[]Other mods that change the same alchemy rules will probably conflict.[/]
[]Not available on consoles for now because the in-game mod settings menu doesn't work through mod.io.[/]
