📋 About This Mod
In the books, *boss* fights were always something special and personal - it's not different in the first game. The final battle against Azar Javed is great, except for one thing - the witcher cannot use finishers on the Zerrikanian. It is
The battle is excellent, atmospheric with the build-up leading to it, the location, dialogues and dramatic moments. But its final should've been more cinematic - in vanilla, Azar goes down like a generic opponent. I wanted to change it, bring it in line with the books and other boss encounters in the game.
As he's a very dangerous foe, it's understandable he's immune to every special effect there is - and I was glad to preserve it. I devised a custom special state for him, one triggered when he's at 5% HP.
When you see the sorcerer is at a very low HP value - try to deduce that 5% from his health bar and then to Stun him.
Following up, a bugfix - during one dialogue with Javed (seen in the screenshots), he has his Act II weapons equipped, a clear bug/oversight - he doesn't use those anymore at this stage. Now he won't have any weapons in the scene, fitting the next cinematic.
For the changes to work, it's highly recommended to visit the Old Manor for the first time - otherwise Azar may be using his vanilla .utc and my edit won't work. And an important thing - if you have other mods that could possibly edit the same .utc files - add zzz_ to this mod's folder name, like "zzz_Azar...". The game will load files from "zzz_Azar..." in case of a file conflict, then.
