The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Profanity, Nudity & Gore Filter

An optional, reversible filter for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that does three things: it censors written and spoken profanity, it clothes or covers nude characters, and it replaces nude and gory visuals with censored versions. Only the flagged words and explicit visuals change; the story, the quests, and the performances play exactly as the developers made them.

Please read first, what this filter does NOT do

• []It does not make The Witcher 3 family-friendly or kid-safe. The Witcher 3 is rated Mature 17+ (ESRB M / PEGI 18) and this filter does not change that. It reduces profanity and removes explicit nudity and some gore, but the intense combat, blood, dark and disturbing themes, alcohol and substance use, and strong adult subject matter are all still there. This is not a "clean" version of the game.[/]

  []It does not catch everything. Profanity coverage is as much as we could identify, but some still slips through. The nudity and gore coverage targets the prominent scenes, characters, and artwork; a stray bare model or wound may remain. Think "much less," not a guarantee.[/]

  Game files in this download: the profanity parts (text + audio) include no game files, a small app re-creates those edits on your own installed copy. The nudity/gore part is different: it includes pre-built censored copies of some of the game's own art (about 650 MB), installed as an optional mod folder. You must own The Witcher 3; those files are derived from the game, are inert without your own copy, and remain the property of CD PROJEKT RED.

    What this mod does

    []Written text: 2,438 on-screen and subtitle entries that contained profanity, with each profane word replaced by full-word asterisks (**). Installed as an optional mod overlay; your own game text files are never modified.[/]

    []Spoken dialogue: 2,704 English voice clips that contained profanity, with each profane word replaced by silence. The rest of the line plays normally, at its original length and lip-sync.[/]

    []Nudity: nude characters (courtesans, bathhouse and other figures) are clothed or robed using the game's own garments, and explicit body textures and meshes are replaced with the game's own covered versions.[/]
