Roach Gwent Card for Everyone

Overview

CDPR introduced the Roach card into the Gwent deck with the next-gen update in December 2022. However, it was challenging for many players to acquire it. You were required to have the Complete Version of the game, you had to link your account to GoG, you had to play at least one game of the Gwent standalone game with the account linked, and you had to do all of this before December 31, 2023. For those of us who didn't want to jump through all those hoops, or, for those of us who missed the narrow window of opportunity, the only way to access the card is via console commands, which is a tedious process to do at the start of a new playthrough. Not to mention also manipulating it mid-way through the game when the Geralt and Ciri cards are finally received and then have to also swap them out. If only someone had created a mod to grant the Roach card and the special Geralt and Ciri variants in an automated fashion with no hassles! As such, I decided to create Roach Gwent Card for Everyone.

Mod Features

This mod enables the features of the Roach card, as well as the special Geralt and Ciri variants for all versions of the game.

• []Automatically grants the Roach card at the start of the playthrough, or upon loading a save at any point after receiving the starter deck in White Orchard.

  []Automatically swaps the standard Geralt and Ciri cards for the special variants. The swap occurs upon acquiring the standard Geralt and Ciri cards. It does not alter the timing of how they are acquired during normal gameplay.

  []The special variants of the Geralt and Ciri cards summon Roach when they are played. Note: this is vanilla behavior for the special Geralt and Ciri cards; I did not alter them. This mod simply activates those variants when Roach is in the deck.

  []Does not require that Roach was previously activated by playing the Gwent standalone game. You can unlink your accounts if you still have them linked, and this mod will still work properly.

  []The Roach card and special variants of Geralt and Ciri were introduced exclusively to the next-gen edition of the game. Therefore, this mod is only compatible with next-gen (4. 0+). This mod does not contain any files from the base game, and I have no plans to port this mod to classic because the effort involved to extract, modify, and pack all those files is not worthwhile.

  Installation Instructions

  Extract dlcRoachGwent from the archive and place inside the DLC folder, typically found at:

  \The Witcher 3\dlc

  Note: this mod only works with the next-gen (4. 0+) version of the game. It will not work with classic gen.*
