📋 About This Mod
Lucky Gwent
Change cards 20 times (for different mod versions that allow to redraw cards 4/8/20/99 times check FILES tab) instead of 2 at the gwent game start.
1. Installation
Unpack archive to the <game_installation_dir>\mods folder (Steam path example: D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Witcher 3\mods). If mods folder doesn't exist, create it.
Check that you don't create modLuckyGwent inside modLuckyGwent folder when unpacked.
The final path should look like that <game_installation_dir>\mods\modLuckyGwent\content.
2. Uninstall
Remove modLuckyGwent from the <game_installation_dir>\mods folder (Steam path example: D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Witcher 3\mods\modLuckyGwent).
3. Problems
This mod modifies
\gameplay\gui_new\swf\gwint\gwint_game.redswf
and will be incompatible with any mod which modifies same file. Script merger will not help in this case.
My other mods to change tedious parts of gameplay

Infinite Roach Stamina Allows any horse the player uses to gallop infinitely. NPC horses continue to use stamina.

LuckyGwent is a small utility mod for The Witcher 3 that increases the number of card redraws at the start of a Gwent game from the default 2 to 4, 8, 20, or 99 times, depending on the version you choose. It's for players who want more flexibility in their starting hand without altering other gameplay.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 1,063 endorsements and 24,318 downloads.
- Gives you way more control over your starting hand—no more getting stuck with bad cards.
- Multiple redraw options let you pick your preferred difficulty balance.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2016—might not work with the latest game patches or the next-gen update.
- Only affects the initial redraw phase, so it doesn't help mid-game card draws.
For Gwent enthusiasts who hate losing because of a bad starting hand and want more strategic control. Also for players who enjoy tweaking game balance to suit their playstyle. Skip if you want a mod that changes other aspects of Gwent or if you're playing the latest version and worry about compatibility.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Choose the version with 4 or 8 redraws if you want a slight edge without making the game too easy.
- If you're using the Steam version, make sure to back up your original files before replacing them.
- Check the mod's comments section for any user-reported compatibility issues with your game version.
