📋 About This Mod
Features
With this mod the cascaded sun shadows are more than twice as long as before during sunrise and sunset. And terrain shadows are even longer which makes it possible for mountains to cast shadows across the whole map.
The effect is similar to the Long Shadows feature in GTA 5 and RDR 2.

Long Shadows by KnighTec enhances sunrises and sunsets with longer, more realistic shadows. A lightweight visual mod for players seeking atmospheric lighting changes. With 330 endorsements and 7,526 downloads, it has a modest following. Last updated March 2023, so compatibility with newer game versions is uncertain.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple visual upgrade that makes mornings and evenings feel more dramatic.
- Decent community support (330 endorsements) for a niche visual mod.
- No complex dependencies—just drop it in and see the difference.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in March 2023—might be outdated for the latest game patches.
- Only affects sunrises and sunsets, so if you play mostly midday, you won't notice much.
For players who love atmospheric lighting and want more immersive dawn/dusk moments. If you're a screenshot enthusiast or roleplayer, this adds a nice touch. Skip if you want major visual overhauls or gameplay tweaks—this is a subtle, focused mod.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to place the mod files in the correct directory (e.g., Data folder for Bethesda games) or use a mod manager for easy installation.
- Test the mod during sunrise and sunset in-game to see the shadow changes immediately.
- If you use other lighting mods, check load order to avoid conflicts—put Long Shadows after major lighting overhauls.
