📋 About This Mod
Versions log: 1. 2: Maxwell bug fixed, added "Beard only" version. For users of non-Maxwell GPU's I recommend to use 1. 01 version. 1. 01: Updated with ModKit.
This mod disables Hairworks on Geralt's hair (only original hairstyles, not DLC), it works like missed "monster only" option: http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/37847-PC-Hairworks-just-for-monsters-amp-animals/
No more additional FPS drop in cutscenes. No more noodles instead of hair.
Installation: Put "modHair" folder from this archive in "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\mods". Set "Nvidia Hairworks Preset" to "low" and "Nvidia Hairworks" to ON in options.
Mod has "Hair and Beard", "Hair only" and "Beard only" versions. Install ONLY ONE of them.
Hairworks must be ON in the game settings ("Yes" option).
Known bugs before 1. 2: Hair disappears on Maxwell GPU's. Looking for the solution.

This mod removes the performance-heavy Hairworks effects from Geralt's hair while keeping them on other characters and creatures, eliminating FPS drops in cutscenes and the 'noodle' hair look. It's a lightweight fix for players who want better performance without losing visual fidelity on NPCs.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust with 7,640 endorsements and 278k downloads
- Directly solves the most common Hairworks complaint: FPS drops in cutscenes
- Keeps the visual upgrade on NPCs where it matters most
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2015 — may not be compatible with the latest game patches or DLC
- Only affects Geralt's hair; if you want to disable Hairworks entirely, this isn't it
For Witcher 3 players who love Hairworks on NPCs but hate the performance hit during cutscenes. If you're on a mid-range PC and want smoother cinematics without losing the visual flair, this is a must-have. Skip if you prefer to disable Hairworks entirely or play on ultra settings with no FPS issues.
