Echoes of Play

Echoes of Play is a narrative mod for The Witcher 3 that takes the player on a surreal journey through two quests. Starting a new game with the "Blood and Wine" expansion, Geralt uncovers worlds where reality blends with illusion. The first quest leads him to a place where childhood and carefree moments seem eternal, yet hide dark secrets. The second quest forces Geralt to confront his own fears and shadows from the past.

This mod replaces Ciri with young Geralt throughout the game. While it functions smoothly for the most part, there may be unexpected issues during sections where you would typically control Ciri. These segments might not play out as intended due to the character swap.

I’m really pleased with how the mod has turned out, and I have a few things I wanted to add from the begging planned after the contest.

Here’s what’s coming:

Music: I’m adding a soundtrack to really set the mood and make the world feel more alive.

Polish Voice Over: I’ve got the Polish voice acting fully recorded and working in the REDKit engine, but I’m having trouble getting it into the final mod.

Better Combat with Dark Geralt: I want to make the fight with Dark Geralt more intense and satisfying.

Extra Day in the Artist’s Illusion: I’ll be adding another day to the illusion world, with a new quest to give you even more to explore.

Cutscene Animations: I’m working on adding smoother animations to the cutscenes to make them feel more cinematic.

General details: Lots of little improvements to make the gameplay and visuals better.
