Easy Counterattack - Next Gen (Legendary Counter Parry Combat Attacks)

Mod description:

A very simple script mod that makes counterattacking much easier while keeping everything else in combat the same as vanilla. Just as you are used to, hold down your Parry/Counterattack key (Right Mouse Button) if you want to parry, or tap the same key just before the attack connects to counter.

In vanilla, the counter mechanic can be very punishing. You only have 1 chance to press your Parry/Counterattack key correctly. If you press it a bit early, you will FAIL to counter. If you press it a bit late, of course, you will FAIL to counter. If you think you didn't press it right and you try pressing it again, you most likely will FAIL to counter as well. If you spam the key, you will FAIL to counter. This mod ensures that if you press your Parry/Counterattack key at the right time, you WILL counter successfully, doesn't matter what you press before or after that. With this, you can confidently press your Parry/Counterattack key because you can for sure fix your error if you know you timed it wrong. Alternatively, if you suck so badly with countering like me, you can simply spam the key and chances are you WILL counter as long as the attack can be countered.

I'm not planning to update this mod with more features. Will only update it if any of the game's future updates break it.

Compatibility:

This is an extremely simple script mod that edits a single character in a single script. It will conflict with any mod that edit the same script, but any conflict should be solved automatically using ScriptMerger. That is, unless you are using another mod that change the same counter mechanic.

Install:

Extract the zip file and put modEasyCounterattack directly in the Mods folder in your game directory. It should look something like this: /Witcher3/Mods/modEasyCounterattack. If you don't have a Mods folder yet, please create one yourself. Please remember to run ScriptMerger if you are using other mods.

Uninstall:

Simply delete modEasyCounterattack from your Mods folder. Run ScriptMerger afterward.

Credit:

This is basically the Legendary Counter Parry Combat Attacks mod by Godmezenger. It was last updated since 2016. I tried downloading it but couldn't make it work with my game so I just pulled the new script from 4. 04 and made the same edits. I will remove this mod if Godmezenger decides to update the original mod.
