📋 About This Mod
This mod leverages the power of RTX Global Illumination to make the fires bounce around the environment more and fill the dark gaps, eliminating or reducing the "point light" effect where you can clearly see the placed lights in the environment. Now the dark areas should feel filled with light and a lot more traversable and cozy (and hopefully more realistic).
I've added 4 different levels of bounce intensity via a menu, so you can choose how cozy the environment can be now. It is completely fire and lighting mod agnostic, meaning that it will work with every lighting mod and every fire mod out there! The only requirement is that you have Ray Tracing enabled. It also has no performance impact. It goes well with my No Artificial Player Light mod!
All of the screenshots section were taken with the Default value and Very Cozy value as it better demonstrates the differences, but your mileage may vary depending on the location/weather/lighting mod.
Options:
While there are a couple of presets at the top of the menu for you to choose from, I'm a big proponent of customization, therefore I've exposed the options and more for you to choose and customize the lighting to your liking like a customization suite. Bear in mind that setting some values too high can lead to some undesireable visual artifacts.
Here's what roughly each options does:
-
[]Direct Light Strength - Sets the ray intensity of direct lights from most lightsources in the game;
- [
-
[]Global Light Strength - Sets the ray intensity from the sun/moon. Higher values can lead to overbrightened reflections;
- [
- Additive Light Amount - Sets the minimum brightness the game will allow to it's enviroment. Suggested setting it to zero so the game can reach complete darkness (great for players on OLED) or at Default.
Installation:
1. Download the file;
2. Extract it using the unpacker of your choosing (eg. winzip/winrar/7zip);
3. Drag and drop the extr

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 874 endorsements and 140k downloads – clearly a hit.
- Simple concept: makes fires look better with RTX, no gameplay changes to worry about.
- Recently updated (Aug 2025), so likely works with current Minecraft versions.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires RTX-capable hardware and ray tracing enabled – not for everyone.
- Only affects fire visuals – if you want broader visual overhauls, this is too niche.
For Minecraft players with RTX-capable GPUs who want to enhance the cozy atmosphere of their fires without overhauling the whole game. Perfect for builders and survival players who love base-building and want that warm glow to pop. Skip if you don't have RTX or prefer vanilla visuals.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have ray tracing enabled in your Minecraft video settings, otherwise the mod won't work.
- If you're using a resource pack, load this mod after it to ensure the fire textures are applied correctly.
- Test in a single-player world first to see if performance is acceptable on your system.
