Better Talent Search

Description

Rogue Trader has hundreds of talents, and the level-up window only lets you scroll through them.

- The common talent list alone holds 120 entries, and careers and ascension add lists of their own.

- You go through those lists at every rank of every companion.

- Finding the one talent you had in mind, or every talent that mentions critical hits or grenades, means scrolling and reading until your eyes glaze over. That happens at every level-up of every hero in the party.

This mod helps address these issues by adding a search bar for quickly and intelligently filtering the talents you need. The search bar is integrated into the UI so it blends seamlessly with the game's overall visual style, using the game's own buttons and font.

Installation instructions

Unpack into %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Warhammer 40000 Rogue Trader\UnityModManager\ so it holds a TalentSearch folder.

Launch Rogue Trader and after reaching the Main Menu you can hit ctrl+F10 to see the mod manager window.

  []Query syntax: "exact phrase", -exclude, fire|flame, n: for names, d: for descriptions[/]

  []Highlights the matched letters in talent names[/]

  []Match counter, clear button, Ctrl+F to jump in, Esc to clear[/]

  []Works with the game's sorting, favourites and picking a talent from the results[/]

  []UI only: nothing in saves, safe to add or remove mid-playthrough[/]
