Better Exploration - Minimap

Description

Stop pressing M every five seconds.

Rogue Trader's areas are big mazes of corridors, stairs and side rooms, and the only map is a full-screen window behind the M key. So exploring turns into a loop, every few seconds:

1. Walk a bit.

2. Press M.

3. Check where you are, where you came from and which corners are still dark.

4. Close the map and walk on.

This mod adds a round minimap on the HUD, always there, drawn from the game's own local map. You see where you are, where you have just run (an amber trail), and what is still unexplored. A click on it moves the camera, and a right click sends the party. Exploring gets much easier and faster.

Installation instructions

Unpack into %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Warhammer 40000 Rogue Trader\UnityModManager\ so it holds a Minimap folder.

Launch Rogue Trader and after reaching the Main Menu you can hit ctrl+F10 to see the mod manager window.

  []Left click or drag moves the camera, right click sends the party, the wheel zooms out to the whole area[/]

  []Shift+M hides it; it steps aside for dialogues, cutscenes, full-screen windows and the map window[/]
