📋 About This Mod
# End of support
Unfortunately I currently do not intend on updating this mod because I don't have the time and motivation for it anymore.
If you still want to keep using it, have a look at the remake of this guy here at thunderstore: https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/RustyMods/PortalStations/
# Description
This mod was created for anyone who is disappointed by how portals work in Valheim.
It adds a new building piece called the `Portal Station` and an item named `Personal Teleportation Device`.
# Portal Stations
Portal stations are capabable of teleporting players from any station to all other ones.
However, they are more expensive to build than regular portals as they require 4 surtling cores, 20 stone and 20 Greydwarf eyes.
# Personal Teleportation Device
The Personal Teleportation Device item can be used to quickly teleport from any location to nearby portal stations and also allow to teleport back to the last known location.
They can be built at the forge (level 3+) with 3 surtling cores, 10 leather scraps and 10 iron nails and come with 2 quality upgrades.
Each teleportation will cost "fuel" and also adds some wear to it (can be repaired at a forge).
Each quality update will reduce fuel cost and increases the items durability so it can be used more often until it breaks.
# Configuration Options
Configuration options can be changed in Valheim/BepInEx/config/com.undeadbits.valheimmods.portalstation.cfg:

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 196 endorsements and nearly 7k downloads.
- Adds a fresh twist on fast travel—feels more immersive than opening the map.
- Simple concept that fits right into the game's building mechanics.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in March 2024—might be out of sync with newer game patches.
- No details on how stations are built or if they require power or resources.
- Potential conflicts with other mods that alter fast travel or add teleportation systems.
For builders and roleplayers who want a physical, in-world fast travel network instead of the vanilla map teleport. Also great for survival players who want a reason to set up outposts. Skip if you're fine with vanilla fast travel or don't want extra items cluttering your inventory.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Place Portal Stations at your main bases to create a quick travel network.
- Keep the Personal Teleportation Device in your hotbar for quick access.
- Test the stations in a creative world first to see how they connect.
