Forge Pipes

Build a copper pipe network that moves items between chests and automates your Valheim machines. Stretch pipes across a room, branch your routes with junctions, and use a sorting hopper to send items to storage.

New in 1. 1. 3: Pipes and chests connected to them are protected from Eitr spark damage. Other damage still works normally. A Vortex-ready download is also available: choose Mod Manager Download on the Forge Pipes files page to install it through Vortex.

What you can build

Pipes need no ground support and can hold connected floating chests. Pipe recipes unlock after discovering copper ingots.

Automation

Forge Pipes can supply machines, collect finished products and transfer items between connected chests—even while a chest is open. Press Shift + E on a closed chest to cycle between Both, Send only and Receive only. Use a Both chest as a buffer and Receive only for final storage.

Connect each machine to the correct port: green for ingredients, gray for fuel, gold for output and blue for chests. A route connected to the wrong port will not move the items you expect.

Supported machines include the charcoal kiln, smelter, blast furnace, wooden and iron cooking stations, stone oven, fermenter, windmill, spinning wheel, Eitr refinery, beehive, Frigid Kiln and Sap Extractor. The charcoal kiln runs twice as fast, holds four times as much wood, and accepts Wood, Fine Wood and Core Wood.

Leave Last Item is enabled by default, keeping one of each item in a source chest for quick stacking. Fine Wood and Core Wood kiln intake are also enabled by default. Eligible cooked food and honey collected from storage can grant their respective cooking XP or harvest credit.

Installation and compatibility

Forge Pipes requires BepInEx. Install the same Forge Pipes version on the host and every player. Choose the Vortex download for Vortex installation or the manual archive for a manual install, and remove older copies of

ForgePipes.dllbefore updating.

Crafting from nearby chests is available separately through the optional Forge Chest Crafting mod; it is no longer part of Forge Pipes. Existing pipe networks and hopper contents remain compatible. English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese are supported, with English as the fallback.

Automation runs while the relevant machines and routes are loaded. Known issue: Obliterator automation remains unreliable.
