Keep your periscope wet!

Fully compatible with full release 1. 0 and beyond. Ignore any outdated messages NEW CAREER REQUIRED. Works with any stabilisation setting. Increases visibility of periscopes to enemy. Observation scope more visible than attack scope. Speed increases visibility. Patch 1. 1: Resized TYPE VII periscope lengths to be accurate. In vanilla, max height from top edge of conning tower is: Attack scope 5. 5m, Observation scope 3. 5m. In mod it is Attack scope 5. 3m, Observation scope 2. 7m In vanilla you can have both at maximum extension, and on a clear calm day, a freighter will sail straight past you without ever seeing it. The intention of this mod is to encourage you to keep it wet! On a calm clear day, at KF (Forward 1), with one periscope at maximum extension, you have a chance to be spotted by a freighter at 2km If you increase speed your chances of being detected go up considerably. Within 1km you want to be constantly keeping it wet. Maybe max 4 seconds. As was doctrine IRL. Within 500m just peeps. 1-2 seconds, not enough for a stadimeter/ chrono check, and constantly washed over by waves. Detection is based off a chance so you may or may not get lucky. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE OBSERVATION PERISCOPE PRIORITY IN THE SAILOR TASK IS SET TO ZERO (otherwise they'll constantly use it and get you spotted.) Make sure all officers have a set task so they dont decide to use observation scope. Make sure officer at depth steers! To keep you level.
