Hypnos Class Light Arsenal Submarine

This previous test submarine class is the direct evolution of the earlier Zephyrus class, developed by the Olympus Military Complex’s Naval Department as a bold experimental platform that successfully integrated proven technologies from the Altair class Advanced Destroyer and Merope class Advanced Strategic Corvette. What began as a high-risk trial quickly proved so devastatingly effective that it was fast-tracked into mass production. Conceived to fill a critical gap in the nation’s mobile thalassocratic doctrine, the Hypnos is a compact, stealthy underwater arsenal ship capable of independent operations in both littoral and blue-water environments. By merging the extreme VLS density and automation philosophy of the Altair and Merope classes with advanced submarine systems, it transforms a traditional light submarine into a true underwater arsenal platform. Its low-displacement, angular hull, nuclear powerplant with silent electric propulsion, and sophisticated signature management systems allow it to slip undetected into contested waters before unleashing overwhelming firepower from below the surface. Key capabilities include : - 140 VLS cells on the upper hull for medium-range air-defense missiles, providing layered protection for friendly surface forces or self-defense when surfacing - 150 universal VLS cells on the lower hull for guided torpedoes or pop-up surface-launched anti-ship and land-attack missiles, granting unprecedented reach against both naval and coastal targets - Four pulse laser turrets using specialised underwater lens with a new cooling system that resist high pressure - 2 dedicated torpedo systems (1 fixed large-diameter tube for heavyweight torpedoes, 2 gimbaled medium tubes for offensive strikes or rapid defensive salvo fire) - Advanced sonar and radar suite derived from the Merope with specialized submarine software for superior underwater tracking and targeting - 2 internal hangars for light drones, submersibles, or fast infantry boats, en
