This Close-Quarters Battle Corvette emerged as the first true evolution of the Antares, forged directly from the hard lessons of early combat patrols in the chaotic years following independence. While the Antares had served as a simple and conventionnal all-purpose workhorse to ensure the nation’s immediate survival, the Ceres was deliberately reshaped into a lean, aggressive frontline brawler optimized for the brutal reality of intense littoral warfare. Where the Antares had spread it's capabilities across many roles, the Ceres, like 2 centuries ago warships, concentrated every ton of steel and every watt of power into a single deadly purpose : absolute domination of the close-range battlefield. It was built to charge straight into enemy formations, clear swarms of coastal threats, and shield the young nation’s most vulnerable islands from the sprawling networks of coordinated, militarized mafias and gangs that terrorized the shallows during those desperate first years. Its ruthlessly specialized system suite reflected this focus : - 3 twin 90mm cannon turrets (88 rpm per gun, double the Antares’ firepower) with 1125 new ERFB-BB shells for a maximum range of 37 km - Armored box launcher with 36 twin-packed non-line-of-sight anti-surface missiles or surface-to-air missiles, all up to 40km range - One torpedo launcher per side with dual sonar buoy racks and a dedicated mine launcher - 2 sextuple grenade launchers for mines, torpidoes, decoys, or short-range surface threats - Two 13 mm heavy machine guns for point-blank defense - Reinforced landing pad for resupplying and 2 small hangars for infantry boats - Close-range-focused detection, tracking, electronic warfare, and communication suite optimized for the chaos of littoral combat On the most dangerous missions, later variants appeared with 8 cannons of better rate of fire, upgraded laser telemetry, and the first generation of Multi-Mode Digital Fuze and High Explosive Arrow shells reaching a maximum of 46 km.
