TIMBER DUNE part 3 the beaver edition ( this is a 50 cycle challange (the 100 days drought challange starts at cycle 45)) The rumble of the Great Worm was still a tremor in your whiskers, a phantom vibration that refused to leave your bones. Your colony had survived the siege of the Broken Fortress, but only just. Now, standing on a jagged wooden precipice overlooking a sunken abyss, you weren't alone. Behind you stood the survivors a grizzled crew of engineers, haulers, and scouts, their fur matted with ash and their eyes hardened by the wasteland. The weight of being the last architects of your kind felt heavier than the log packs on your backs, but at least the weight was shared. For weeks, your caravan had trekked across the scorched salt flats, guided by the encrypted blueprints salvaged from the fortress ruins. They promised a cure, a "Blight" serum designed to dissolve the worms from the inside out. But as your strongest builders pried open the rusted hatch of the hidden research facility, the smell hit the group all at once: a nauseating cocktail of stagnant water and the acidic, sulfurous musk of worm waste. The facility wasn't just old; it was drowning. A vast, terraced crater stretched out before you, carved deep into the earth. What was once a marvel of beaver engineering was now a shimmering, red-bleu sea of toxic runoff. Somewhere down there, in the deepest pressure-vaults, the serum awaited. One of the haulers nudged a loose stone into the central elevator shaft. It didn’t clatter against the floor; it hit the surface with a thick, wet plop. The elevator platform itself, a massive steel cage hung precariously by a single, frayed rope of twisted hemp and wire, swaying like a pendulum over the toxic soup.
