📋 About This Mod

This mod fixes the skills (or perks) in Starfield and adds more info to the tooltips. It also improves a couple of underwhelming skills. There are 2 alternate versions available, one which removes challenges and one that only contains fixes for the vanilla purists.

Armor Penetration: Now works for melee weapons (excluding unarmed attacks.)

Concealment: No longer overrides the magazine perks from Va'ruun scriptures or interferes with Void Form.

EM Weapon Systems: Now boosts the right damage type and scales properly with each rank instead of providing +100% damage for all ranks.

Lasers: Fixed rank 4 still affecting particle weapons despite Bethesda's recent attempt to fix it.

Leadership: Fixed a bug that caused ranks 2-4 to only provide +15% companion affinity gain instead of +25%. Companion quests will also trigger properly.

Martial Arts: Now properly adds a flat +15% crit chance to unarmed attacks instead of multiplying your base 5% crit chance by 1. 15. Ranks 3-4 also have a 15% chance to disarm as intended. (Was 5%)

Particle Beams: Now properly adds a flat +5% crit chance, instead of multiplying your base 5% crit chance by 1. 05.

Pistol Certification: Now properly adds a flat +25% crit chance for 5 seconds after killing an enemy, instead of multiplying your base 5% crit chance by 1. 25.

Rapid Reloading: Now works while throwables are equipped.

Targeting: Fixed a bug that made the increased weapon range not take effect at rank 3 only.

Targeting Control Systems: Now properly adds a flat +10% crit chance at rank 4. (Rank 3 already did.)

Pain Tolerance: Now gives a 5% chance to ignore physical damage below 50% health instead of 25% health, mirroring the health threshold of Energy Weapon Dissipation and making the skill less of a waste.

Commerce: Now makes vendors restock with 10/20/30/50% more credits. Trade Authority kiosks restock an additional 10% credits for every 10 levels up to 50.

Chemistry: Now has a 10% chance to triple the amount of chems created, up from 5%.

Spacesuit Design: Now has a 15% chance to not cost resources, up from 10%.

Environmental Conditioning: Increases environmental resistances by 15, up from 10.

Nutrition: Doubled its bonuses so that it now makes food and drink 100% more effective at rank 4.

Gunslinger's Guide and Mining Monthly magazine perks no longer count toward the skill total for the Combat tree.

The following skills have had their tooltips updated to clarify how big the bonuses and proc chances are for their effects:

Boost Assault Training

Boost Pack Training

Cellular Regeneration - Ra

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a Starfield mod, make sure you've disabled or configured the game's mod support (if any) to load custom plugins.
  • Check the mod's comments section on the Nexus for user reports on which perks are fixed—the description is thin.
  • If you use other perk overhaul mods, load Skill Fixes after them to ensure its fixes take priority.
