📋 About This Mod
KryoZet does some fantastic work and as I'm a fan of tight outfits and discipline, I wanted to distribute some of that to the NPCs around Starfield. And as KZ is probably too busy making actual good content, allow me to share these tiny plugins with you.
What this does:
The UC Sysdef get Sysdef outfits, Vanguard get Vanguard outfits etc. I used some arbitrary vibes to decide the rest and I did not use every possible variation available either. You might not even notice anything's changed.
There are edits to vanilla Outfit records and for the TCR one some edits to vanilla NPC records. You may want something different, that's fine, if you have ideas, let me know. If you want to edit these plugins, go ahead. Don't bother KZ with problems that this mod causes. There's a new update coming in and I'll check then if there are conflicts that need to be resolved.
Installation:
Install with a mod manager, they need to be lower in the plugin load order to work.
Currently available for:
KZ UNITED COLONIES DEPOSITORY
KZ Venatorial Frontiers Armory
KZ Techno-Corporate Repository
As this was mind numbing work, it is possible I've screwed something up. Let me know if some npc is wearing the wrong thing and I'll look into it. (I'm also using these plugins currently.)
Note 2026-04-09: there was at least one bug in my UCD plugin, where vanguard officers might get sysdef clothes. The update won't fix existing actor references since they've already rolled their clothes. I'll look into NPC exceptions as an optional thing, might even make this into a fomod installer because those are always nice.
(There was something about the way I edited the object templates that didn't stick in xedit, possibly because I copy pasted the sysdef armors first and then did a duplication and edit afterwards, the object templates seems to be enumerated and leaving a gap didn't play well. I should've double checked in the CK.)
This mod distributes KZ clothes and spacesuits to NPCs based on faction, covering KZ United Colonies Depository, KZ Venatorial Frontiers Armory, and KZ Techno-Corporate Repository. It's a small but functional addition for players who want faction-appropriate gear in their game.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Adds faction-specific gear distribution, making NPCs look more cohesive.
- Decent community traction with 154 endorsements and over 12k downloads.
- Recently updated (April 2026), so likely compatible with current game version.
⚠️ Cons
- Only covers three repositories, so coverage may be limited.
- Requires the base KZ clothes and spacesuit mods to be installed, but they aren't listed here.
For players who already use KZ clothes and spacesuits and want NPCs to wear them appropriately. Skip if you're looking for new items or major gameplay changes—this is purely a distribution tweak.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the base KZ clothes and spacesuit mods installed, as this mod only distributes existing items.
- Check load order—place this mod after the KZ item mods to ensure distribution works.
- If NPCs don't show the gear, verify that the faction repositories are correctly assigned in your game.
