📋 About This Mod

Is Bethesda making you question your gaming skills because you can't hit shit with reflex sights? Don't worry, it is not your fault. But now it can be.

This mod replaces "reflex sights" that are just textures drawn on a piece of glass with models that are attached to the camera so that they always point to where the aim point is.

The problem with vanilla sights is, the aim point is always the center of the screen when you are aiming down sights, unless you change it with a mod that enables laser sights to determine where the bullet will go. Vanilla reticle textures move around with the weapons' animations, making them not so accurate and practically useless after the first shot. This mod removes them and adds a camera locked model behind the reflex sights glass, always pointing at the center of the screen.

Details:

  • []Reflex sight reticles will always point at where the first bullet will go. So the only thing that will make you miss will be the spread.

[]Reticles will not be visible unless the player is in first person and aiming down sights.

[]The reticle will move with the sway of the camera, but this sway affects the whole screen so the center does not change. This makes it look more natural.

[]Reticle size will depend on your FOV. I made sure they look okay from 70 to 110 but the higher the FOV, the smaller the reticle will be.

    Limitations:

    • []I couldn't find a way to make the reticle render only through the glass so they are hidden based on viewing angle. They will only be visible when seen at a direct 90 degree angle, which will always be true when the player is aiming down sights. Because of this work around, sometimes they can be seen outside the reflex sight model as the weapon moves around when jumping. I edited pistol reticles to be only a dot to mitigate that, but this solution is not perfect. An example can be seen with Eon in the showcase video when the player jumps. Based on my tests, it only happens with some pistols when the player jumps or fires while strafing right.

[]Reflex sight reticles can linger on the screen if you start sprinting while aiming down sights with a reflex sight and hold the sprint button while moving. This does not happen if you do not hold the aim down sight button after starting sprinting and/or use toggle iron sights.

      Compatibility:

[]Every single weapon mod will need a compatibility patch. Mods editing weapon records should be mostly fine.

[]I only edited one vanilla record (eon's reflex sight zoom data) and two vanilla meshes (eon's reflex sight and lawgiver's standard sight because

      they were too
